Additional 12V DC power

Has anyone installed additional 12V DC power? I seem to use the 12V in the arm rest and the lighter constantly and am thinking of installing at least one more 12V adapter - probably in the rear seat storage area behind the cup holders. Does anyone have experience here? Can I splice the 12V in the armrest? Do I need to run power directly from the fuse box? Any input is appreciated. Pictures are of course appreciated as well.

unless your running some serious power I think that a simple splitter in the back one would be alot better looking\easier to do\easier to UNDO than installing your own.. check out autozone or walmart will probably have them..

I don't like the splitters mainly because I don't want to clutter up the arm rest. My kids want a power outlet for their Gameboy's and Portable DVD player. The rear storage compartment is the ideal location for them. Thus a splitter will not serve the purpose.

I have looked over the fuse description and the box by the driver's side door. There are a few empty slots. Does anyone know if there is any problem running power from them?

Thanks
