THIS IS NOT A "FOR SALE" OR "GROUP BUY" THREAD. I MADE THIS THREAD JUST TO SEE IF ANYONE IN HERE WANT TO BUY THEM. PLEASE DON'T CLOSE IT! Thanks!

Anyways, I'm planning to get an approval for a group buy on some Angel Eyes sets like I have on my car. But before I do that, I was wondering if anyone in here will be interested in them. I'm just testing the water, that's all. If everything goes well, I will start a group buy in a week or 2 after I got the approval.

Just to let you guys know, the inverter on those sets that I'm getting, they are special made to fit right inside you headlights. so you don't have to worry about running the inverter from outside the headlights.

feel free to ask if you have any questions

I'll post some night pics when it's dark here

Jedi54 05-13-2009 04:32 PM

I could see some people wanting that BUT...

- approximately how much would this cost?
- how easy is it to install?

blkhrt 05-13-2009 04:53 PM

i'm planning to sell it for $50 + shipping. the hardest part is try to open the headlights without messing it out. the rest is really easy

kersh4w 05-13-2009 06:50 PM

im cringing at the stone chips on the front of your car. ouch. after my front bumper replaced, i clearbra'd it nearly immediately.

That could be your biggest problem ... They look good

which part are you talking about? the price or taking the headlight apart?

yea I hate those stone chips. I wish I had money at that time to get a clear bra

kersh4w 05-13-2009 07:10 PM

clearbras run about $35 on ebay.....

blkhrt 05-13-2009 07:11 PM

I didn't know they have it on ebay too. damn...

bombthepanhandle 05-13-2009 07:21 PM

angel eyes are pretty sick tho..

blkhrt 05-13-2009 07:40 PM

updated night pics. I've got too much glare from my camera. That's the best I can do. They look way way better in person.

YeahYeahYouWere 05-13-2009 08:25 PM

I think they look really good. But they would have to be pretty easy to install, or my interest would drop off very quickly. $50 seems like a good price - I've seen similar kits that sell for $180, though those also include smaller halos for the parking lights.

$50 and not awful to install, I'd probably be down.

blkhrt 05-13-2009 08:27 PM

as long as you know how to open your headlights, the rest of the steps are really ez.

Tamas 05-14-2009 12:17 PM

Well, they look good, the price is OK too - but I really don't feel like opening the headlights, so that kills this for me right there... :(

shakeyourbrakes 05-14-2009 12:43 PM

i think you missed the boat on this..the good thing is your price, the bad thing is the lack of interest due to the 500+ headlights people are affraid of opening.

Check back in my threads, I installed a set about a year ago, theres a company on ebay that will sell a full kit for 99...I was the first or second guy to actually open them up and install them....pain in the ass, but they did look decent. Good luck, 50 dollars may definitely generate some interest, if anyone needs advice how to open their headlights Ive done it 6+ times now, changing the look

Atilla 05-14-2009 12:45 PM

I'm actually really interested if the OP can demonstrate how this could be done - and if he could range the difficulty of the installation.

shakeyourbrakes 05-14-2009 12:50 PM

Theres a thread i made with a DIY

basically remove the small screws holding the housing together, put in the oven at a set temp for a set amount of time, and slowly pry apart the lens and the housing. If you carefull its not bad, the hard part is getting them sealed up tight..make sure to use some kind of sealant. Im not selling them, but just from experience id rate it like a 8 out of 10..ten being pretty damn hard and a pain in the ass

TheWulf 05-14-2009 12:51 PM

You need another ring around the parking lights. Then I'd consider it.

Atilla 05-14-2009 01:08 PM

damn 8 outta 10??

shit, I'm not good in dealing with anything electrical and i'm especially not any good at baking ANYTHING. I can see myself F'ing this up pretty good if it's an 8/10. 5/10 maybe...but sure as hell not a 8/10

njrotory8 05-14-2009 01:09 PM

i use to be into the angel eye look back in the day like 5 years ago. i wouldnt buy it but i know people will buy them.... i think that look faded

Socket7 05-14-2009 01:19 PM

They look nice.

BUT

I'm not about to bake open a set of 600 dollar headlights.

endowdly 05-14-2009 01:22 PM

I'm not into halos. Good price though.

Interesting.

blkhrt 05-14-2009 03:10 PM

as first when i was trying to open it, I was so afraid to messed up the headlights because we all know how expensive they are. But after I opened them and put them back together, I thought it was pretty easy. I never used sealant, as long as you could make the glue around the headlight melt and press them together around the edge then you should be good. but just to be safe, you could use sealant.

to me, I rate it 4 outta 10. I can walk you through the whole process if you want to.

those rings might look faded in the pictures but they look much much better and brighter in person. if any of you live around Massachusetts, you're welcome to come by and have a look.

SiLVeRE8 05-14-2009 07:52 PM

looks nice, but I think you would have a bigger market if you are willing to do the modification for people by having them send the headlights in and also provide some type of warranty (incase the headlights leak, fall apart, and condensation. I would definitely be interested as long as I'm not the one opening up the headlights.

blkhrt 05-14-2009 08:00 PM

that is agood idea. I would offer that service if you guys trust me enough to have me put them on. If I'd offer that service, I would offer 1 year warranty as well. thanks for your great idea

dannobre 05-14-2009 08:04 PM

The upside looks good :) ...the downside is really expensive :(

Would want to be really careful with the install.....

SiLVeRE8 05-14-2009 10:16 PM

Also will you be doing the halogen for the running lights? And will you be offering different colors... lets say blue or yellow?

RyansRx8 05-14-2009 10:43 PM

They do look really cool I've seen them in all sorts of colors and theres angel eyes for your foglights which i haven't seen before

shakeyourbrakes 05-15-2009 12:04 AM

as i see in the pic, I think my rings are thicker than yours and a litle brighter. yours look nice too though.

i'm currently receiving white angel eyes only. but I will have different color in the future

bumblebeerx8 06-08-2009 05:37 AM

I'd be interested in them in blue and parking ring include other than that Decent price and look goods

kevinD1226 06-08-2009 12:46 PM

how much are a brand new set of hid rx8 headlights? if i happen to mess up mine doin something like this?

mscamp02 06-08-2009 01:52 PM

I do like them and would consider however I would almost be to afraid to mess up my lights to even bother with it

blkhrt 06-08-2009 04:00 PM

I don't think you could mess up the headlights unless you drop it. trust me, it's really easy

Mr.We$t 06-08-2009 05:21 PM

Hay it's a really good look I'm trying this now but I broke one of the rings LOL, I ordered a new one 2day should b here wednesday ima do a DIY video so be on the look out for it.

shakeyourbrakes 06-08-2009 10:10 PM

everybody told me these rings break easy..i did the same thing..its actually really hard not to break them so make sure to handle these things like tissue paper and dont twist them in any way. By the way, after i installed my ORACLE rings, two of the small rings blew out in 8 weeks, then one of the larger ones went about 2 weeks later. No moisture ever got into the headlight housing and the ballast was completely protected from all elements. Oh well.

blkhrt 06-09-2009 06:35 AM

The rings that I have have another layer that was made from plastic to protect the ring from breaking. I'm not trying to say they are unbreakable but they are not easy to break as others. I never get moisture into my headlights either, if you give it a little press around the headlights sealing, then you'll be fine.
