Where to get the manual leather shift boot???
 

I am going to take out the cheasy (hyundai-looking) automatic plate on my car, and put in a leather "boot" in place, it is like what BMWs have on their automatics. I am wondering where in the world can I find the RX-8 leather shift boot?

So you have an AT, right? If so, you won't be able to buy one from Mazda, as they don't sell them this way. IMO, your best bet is to have one custom made.

They don't sell just a replacement boot?? It will fit exactly the same, becuase I won't have the ugly automatic indicator plate on.

wow... HAHA APC just thinks of everything don't they? i always laugh when i see cars with APC stickers... especially on japanese cars

Check with your dealer, they should have the boot available as a replacement parts. By the way, the boot is not leather, they are just synthetic leather.

Thanks guys... ordered the boot @ my dealer and it should be in next week. As soon as I get my new gear-shift knob, and then install the boot; I will post it up on the board. Along with my new license plate holder..... I am slowly getting my car to actually look half-way decent. ;) jk, it is a wonderful car, and I am just making it better.

how much did the boot cost.. i am thinkin of redoing my interior and wanna dye my boot

I payed $66, but Trussville has it for $58 including shipping. It is an order part, not in stock.
