Vinyl Overlay. Opinions!

So i'm thinking about doing a vinyl overlay on the top of my car. (front bumper, hood, roof, trunk) Similar to what BUNIQUE did to his 8, except i'm using vinyl instead of paint. I just can't decide on what color. For those of you who don't know I have a 2004 BB with the full Veilside D1GT body kit. I will also be painting my OZ Ultraleggra wheels according to the color i decide on. Here's my ideas so far:
White Vinyl, White Rims Red Vinyl, Black Rims with Red Lip Matte Black Vinyl, Black Wheels Keep It The Way It Is Some Other Color? Any opinions are welcome Here's an idea to what I'm doing : Attachment 265293 And Here's My Car: https://www.rx8club.com/picture.php?...ictureid=13927 |
oh and if anyone wants to do a photoshop mockup, that would be amazing!
|
eww. Please dont.
|
matte black all the way
|
I'm thinking matte black. But i kinda wanna do something different
|
Why would you use vinyl instead of painting, just curious. I think that your color looks great the way it is, especially with those wheels you have there. If you thinking of doing a two-tone thing, it always looks better with darker color on top, IMO. I wouldn't do too high a contrast to avoid looking funny, lol.
I might be able to do some photoshop action if you put up a pic with less glare. Edit: You should definitely pick up a set of black-out side markers, they're not that expensive, and would look awesome, in my opinion that is. :naughty: |
Vinyl is less expensive and also not permanent. So if I got sick of it, i can always just peel it off. Thanks man. :) You can check the pictures under my username, also

Yes you can peel it off but you gotta remember about paint fading... the paint thats covered wont be faded as much as the paint that wasnt covered. So in the end you might as well paint it or vinyl the whole car...

I think a nice graphite or gunmetal would look interesting

I don't think the Matt Black will look good contrasted with your BB paint.
have you found a shop that will do the overlay? |

when you said white / black theme, I immediately thought of Lazi's old Panda-Mobile

I've seen the black with the middle part red thing done and it looks pretty terrible
|
yeah i'm kind of leaning away from the red
|
what about gloss grey, kinda like chrisms old veilside 8
|
I have seen a overlay that looks like carbon fiber. I thought it looked pretty good
|
Fake Carbon Fiber = Rice imo
