Side skirts!?

So I just got my car last week and found a dent on the left side, under the drivers door where the previous owner probably curb-checked it. Not cool.

anyways, I don't really want to buy a whole body kit, but was wondering if there are any semi-discrete side skirts I could buy to cover it up that would look good with the stock front and rear bumper?

Currently I have become a fan of the CF lip kits, but dont have the money for that right now. Obviously CF side skirts would look horrible without the front and rear lip so I am really just looking for something to color match.

Thanks!

Getting sides alone with the base level 8 is not a good idea. #1 is will look retarded because of the difference in height #2 you don't want to loose practicality and look like a retard and #3 you will be in the what not to do to your car thread in no time... save up for when you have money for everything. IMO

Alright. Good to know.

Thanks.

^ haha true. maybe a little to bold.. but hey that thread has seen rx8's with two tone paint jobs so standalone sideskirts to cover a dent sound alot worse to me than unique paint schemes.

Too bold? I thought it was funny! Lol.

I wasn't sure how drastic most side skirts are, or whether there were any small enough that you wouldn' t notice the lack of full kit, or front/rear lips. That's all:-)

get the shine auto project lip kit.

you dont even need to get it painted right away since the black looks pretty good.

treitz 11-10-2009 02:13 PM

That does look pretty nice. Especially if I do my wheels black again.

Are the super cheap ones on ebay crap? -

From what I have seen/heard on here they aren't as bad as a replica body kit or a replica spoiler... Or are they?

rodjonathan 11-10-2009 02:20 PM

yeah the super cheap ones will most likely be super crappy too!

treitz 11-10-2009 09:04 PM

That's what I figured. Worth asking though

You can get away withe OEM air dam and RB side skirts because they do not hang as low as other skirts.

treitz 11-11-2009 10:46 AM

RB side skirts?

Sorry... still learning the "lingo". Those are pretty minimalistic, however, I still think I'll just save up for a whole kit. After looking at my car a little closer, the dent is much less visible than I originally thought.

There's a dent on the right rear fender that bothers my much more. Unfortunately there is no way to cover it up. Must get it fixed :-(

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-08...Q5fAccessories ........Does anyone have this on their car? Or has anyone seen this setup in person? I am new on this forum and just trying to modify my 8 Slowly ( on a budget though) . and this looks like something i would go with but i dont know the quality. And is this recomended by any users on here?

Thnx in advance...Lol Us noobies ,

I was thinking of getting the shine auto spec bumper. I guess they don't sell the kit but it says the side skirts only attach at the ends which doesn't sound right. I wonder if it's the same for the aero lip kit. Otherwise, I may ask for the auto spec bumper and just the side skirts from the aero lip kit, or buy racing beat side skirts. Any other side skirt options that don't break the bank would be appreciated.
