DIY!!!

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...75#post4103475

this setup cost me less than 50 bucks, and after trial and error with the right method and tools, it wasnt very difficult. All leds were pre wired, so no knowledge of how to wire leds together was needed. I went with a simple approach, with a really bright smd halo, and small circle led brake light instead of a full circuit board. Granted these arnt as amazing as RotaryRasps previous 2 sets of led tails he made, but they do the job. The skys the limit really, because the hardest issue people had were getting these tails open. More news and night pics to follow
Anyway, onto the pics!

This is the tail not sprayed red, and without the red lens on the inside

This is the tail still not sprayed red, and with the red lens on the inside.. obviously this would be what it would look like if you were to do it with a stock appearance. The red reflector lens seemed to make the halo look wider, but since I was spraying the tails red anyway, I didnt use it

Looks sweet! Get that DIY up, and I'm going to tackle that over the winter for sure. My 8 will finally rest over a winter and not be brutalized. Time to trick out all of those things that are hard to risk in a DD. I have led everything but my brake lights. I'll be keeping the red ring.

Your 8 looks sexy as fudge btw.

Word.

From the back, is that an rx8? I thought it was a different car. Anyway, the LED looks awesome. I know it looks way better at night. Great job.

You won't tell us where you ordered the part from. I don't need a DIY I just need to know where to get the parts.

hey.. you cant go bigger on the leds really. Maybe an inch or so, if you look at the pics, the ring fills almost the entire stock ring housing.

Anyway guys, sorry about the delay ive been out of the country. Ill get a DIY up tommorrow or the next day. Theres not some secret place to get the rings, they are standard LED (SMD) Halo rings (ebay, google search, etc.) But ill let everyone know the exact size of the rings to get to fit, and my ebay source, I just have to double check my records. Ill start a new thread this week, and Ill post the link with the write up on here. Thanks guys!~

As far as doing them myself, im not down to take the risk of messing up someone elses taillights. I say this is easy, but these lenses do crack with one slip up. Ill put up good steps though to get this done the best way

Actually looks decent! And I love the way you did the rear end of the car... normally I wouldn't go for a few of the choices but it looks so clean on yours.

Props for a great looking car!!

Thumbs up

I just wanna say thanks to shakeyourbrakes for giving me the inspiration to get quad exhaust and kenstyle bumper after seeing photos of your white RX-8 with Kenstyle bumper with authentic ferrari 430 dual/quad tips.

Below is a photo of my custom dual tips quad exhaust with Kenstyle bumper at the exhaust shop.
