S1 rear fender flare options?

I saw mazdatrix offers a fender kit for 09+. Does anyone have any rear flares done on S1? What are our options?

It can fit on the 04-08, see the notes on the Mazdatrix page. however, my buddy had the Mazdatrix front on his 2010 RX-8 and it needed quite a bit of work to fit right.

Your only legit option for a 04-08 is like $10,000.00 installed. Panspeed or R magic.

Whoa! More than the price of the car itself...

Someone installed ZG flares on a rx8. They were originally designed for the 240z. There are pics posted here somewhere. There are a few JDM flares that come in kits, panspeed flares, and what MazdaTrix sells.

I don't know if I like that. I ideally would want the new fender to start little higher and end 1-2" wider while keeping the same stock body line. I really love how fenders look stock.

I did talk with Mazdatrix today and it seems I need a metal guy working on the car for a proper install. The original fender will need to be cut and welded back together at the seams. Mazdatrix rear fender also needs Mazdatrix sideskirt to work properly. Otherwise, you're talking custom bodywork to mold into your existing sideskirt. It's a lot of work. I don't know if I want my car to be down another 1-2 months for some work that I may end up regretting.. I may just end up keeping my 9.5's and get stickier tires instead. I did appreciate Mazdatrix's honesty and upfront information about the install. It's not exactly something you can tackle with a free weekend, dremel, bondo, and stacks of sandpaper.

Did you see the custom flare work done by the the guy building his 8 for drifting?

It is too bad the Panspeed flares are not a little bigger because they would be perfect.

go for panspeed fender, just got mine installed, they are not perfect, but not bad at all. And they look pretty much the same as the stock fenders.

I think rear flares look terrible if the front flares are still oem. Just do a pull on the rear if you want to fit more aggressive wheels.
and that sr20 build with the flares is freakin immaculate. THAT'S how custom work should be done.

Really only two options if you do not like what is out there. Buy someone's else's flares and modify it to your liking or go 100% custom and have them built.
