A few comments: * Packing was perfect, lots of padding and good (color) instructions. * You may want to grab an open ended wrench to tighten down the ball joints, because you can't get a socket over them once they're in. And for those of you who care, the OEM fender bolts are 10mm and the hinge bolts are 12mm. * The most confusing part is trying to figure out which damper is the right damper and which is the left damper. There's a note in the instructions that tries to explain, but basically its that the ball joint on the hinge assembly needs to be facing out instead of in. * Like all car jobs, its a little bit easier with a second person there to help you. When you're installing the damper plate between the hood and the hinge, your helper can hold out the damper itself parallel to the car - it makes the holes easier to line up. (First picture) * The OEM hole for the bolt holding the fender on is actually a little bit off, so you might have to play with the ball joint bolt to get it in (fourth picture). I took a few pictures but it turns out they were pretty poor because of the light. I'll take some more in the sun. Also a video of the dampers in action.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6e2lx5tjjE |
Thanks GT Conversion for your write up there. I will try to make the directions on which hood damper a little more clear. Perhaps a sticker on the packaging to signify left and right would be appropriate.
It sounds like you are happy with the product. Let me know if there is anything else you need. There are still a couple of these in stock to anyone who has interest. Safe Driving! Justin |
Justin, i need a new ball joint. the one i got was cracked and won't thread into the fender hole.

So how are the Endura-Tech CF Hood Dampers working out for everyone here that has made that purchase? We have ran out of stock so I will try to get some more in here soon before X-mas, in case anyone was looking to spoil themselves or a friend.
