Please read this if you are getting a replica bumper

Ok guys, I want to make it as short as possible.

A month ago I purchased a Extreme Dimension Rear Bumper for my 8 from Andy's Auto Sports. However, the bumper is in extremely BAD quality, here's are the pictures

1. http://imageshack.us/f/32/img1905nc.jpg/ . It is not
supposed to be like that, it is suppose to be flat in order to close the
trunk. Even though the technician said no matter what he does, he cannot
modify to get it fit. This abnormal shape will guarantee not fit my bumper
because my trunk will not be able to close entirely. Here's another view http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/3/img1906l.jpg/

2. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/534/img1875ml.jpg/ . Cracked part.

3. Rebar is blocking my bumper from fitting in. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/210/img1198r.jpg/ and a video

And then I email them back and forth we have talked for more than a week, they first asked me to remove the OEM bumper and installed it and show them exactly how it doesn't fit, which I did. But then they ignored the fact that the bumper is defective ( as in the abnormal shape and the crack), and just keep asking me to remove the rebar and show them again how it doesn't fit. I AM NOT going to remove the rebar first because it's dangerous, second if I get into a car accident my insurance will not cover (touch wood), third I think it's illegal to modify your rebar. They now trying to make me do SO much stuff to avoid giving me back the money, I already spent so much time on this bumper, I drove all the way down to US to pick this bumper up, and spent like 4 hrs to take the OEM bumper off....but now they are saying bullshit to me, well....JUST DON'T BUY FROM EITHER OF THE TWO COMPANIES PLEASE!!

PS: This is what Andy's Auto Sports promises on the website, "Shipping charges cannot be refunded unless it is evidenced that the part(s) are defective or that we made an error in fulfillment of the order." <---This is within 30days of purchase, now it's the 26th day, however, they usually reply me 2/3 days after I send them an e-mail, so, they are pretty smart!! (I just sent them an email 2days ago, yet I still havent receive their email)

First, I have evidence that proves the bumper is defective (regardless whether it fits or not) , you saw those pictures and you know they are defective. The problem is not about the fitting anymore, its about how the bumper is defective and does NOT look good after installation.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ANY OF YOUR FRIENDS THAT ARE GOING TO GET A BUMPER FROM ANDY'S AUTO SPORTS OR EXTREME DIMENSION, THEY SUCK SO BAD AND DO NOT TAKE CARE OF CUSTOMERS....I hope you will take this srsly cuz I woke up at 9am to type all these....I want all my bro to not get in trouble like this..or else you are just going to lose money.....and I learnt a lesson,,,get authentic,,,,don't buy replica, only IF someone bought it before and it fits good..got it?????????

Hard lesson learned...
Research before you buy

yeah had you done a bit of searching on the forums you would never had wasted your time or money.

Did you pay with PayPal, if so then open a dispute. And I'm sure you can still file some sort of complaint if you used a debit/credit card

Quick question I was looking at getting the ms bumper form andys auto sport, do you think I'll be ok I mean it is the authentic bumper and idk any other place to get one.

bse50 01-27-2012 04:38 AM

buy the authentic bumper from elsewhere, just to be sure.
Online mazda parts for instance..

extreme dimentions sux. after hitting a deer years ago i trien one of their cf front bumpers. it was delivered with spider cracks in it and was being fitted at my friends body shop. the bumper was too short length wise to even try to attempt to mount it. they refunded my $ but not the shipping. after fighting with them they gave me a credit for the shipping ammount which i used for siebon cf eye lids. i just stuck with the oem bumper and app pkg. in hindsight i should have gotten the ms bumper on the insurance companys dime

Buy it from somewhere else, it's nothing more else than customer service, it's important, just in case if something goes wrong, they won't be responsible for it.....find a website that has good reference. I just don't want any of my bro to get in trouble like me

Posting this question in a thread that dissuades people from the company that you are planning on buying a kit from, seems just plain stupid. Did you read the thread discussions in which you post your questions?

just wondering why someone doesnt make a mould of the ms kit and sell it in frp.. one that, you know.. FITS.

IIRC the replica urethane kit by KBD isnt too bad compared to ED

I wonder why shine auto project doesn't make a MS replica. They seems to make very good fitting replicas.

I hear the feed kit was a little off but the autobahn kit looks dead on... if they made a MS in similar fashion to the autobahn they would have a massive amount of business.

Andy's Auto Sports is a legit company. I used to order parts from them, and never had problems with it. Anyway, do your research first before you buy, and buy original...not generic.

9krpmrx8 01-30-2012 01:58 AM

I have never seen a replica that fit well enough for my liking and I have seen tons of RX-8's with replica kits on them. And the ones that did fit decent were only after professional bodywork was done to fit them, which negates the price of buying a replica in the first place. Heck even some of the authentic MS kits I have seen are not 100% perfect.

Five minutes of searching could have saved the OP money. There are many threads like this on many different forums.

the dick.

Spell check is your friend. If you want to be taken seriously at least type your posts properly so we can understand them.
