OEM Front Air Dam not recommended for Automatic Transmission?

Hi everyone. Buying a 2004 RX8 GT and ordered a full Appearance package for it (front air dam, side aero, spoiler, etc.). My question is that the "official" Mazda parts websites list the OEM Front Air Dam as not being usable with cars with Automatic Transmissions (example here in the product description section). While looking for RX8's to buy, I found many with an AT that had this very same Front Air Dam mounted. Looking through the instructions for mounting the Air Dam, I see no reason why it would not work.
  1. Does anyone know why Mazda states this?
  2. Does it reduce air flow through a trans cooler?
  3. For those of you that have the OEM Air Dam mounted and have an AT, have you experienced any issues?
Thanks in advance!

Put all the body parts on the car this past weekend, and did not have any problems with the front air dam install. Still not sure why Mazda OEM sites specify the front air dam is not compatible with automatic transmissions. There is a radiator for the oil or AT fluid (didn't bother checking to see which) mounted where the driver's fog lamp is located, but there was no interference whatsoever.

Oh well, looks nicer and more complete now!

That "radiator" is the 4 port's lone oil cooler. Feel free to add the other on the right side as a cooling mod.
