OEM DVD/NAV system question

Will it let you use it on the 04-06 RX8 while the car is moving?

FYI, this is in the wrong section. Move it to the tech section or rx8 discussion section. :)

I don't know the answer to your question, sorry, i dont have a nav :(

Yes.

Yes, it works while the car is moving, although the warning screen says not to use it while operating the car, or something like that. (Kinda silly when you think of it - of course I'll use it while operating the car!) If you really want to, you can activate the voice and close the screen, and it will still give you voice directions. I don't know how I ever lived without it.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned here....is that once the car is moving......it disables the ability to do most things on the NAV.....such as control User Settings........or input a new Destination Entry. If I remember correctly you can still input previous destinations while moving though.......just not new ones. Oh and I learned the other day that when you're moving, the joystick will move the crosshairs across the screen in large increments, yet while you're stopped, it will move it around in very short increments so that you can zero in on a destination just by finding it on the map.

Huh? I've done this before while on the move - inputting a new Destination Entry. It's especially useful on a long trip when you want to find out where the closest gas station is; or the closest Chinese food for that matter. :)

Hmm, that's good to know. I'll have to try that out. :icon_tup:
