No H9 replacement in SilverStar anytime soon...
 

Got the following to an inquiry regarding no H9 SilverStar offering online or anywhere else... :mad:

"Unfortunately, we will not be adding this part to our Silverstar product line at this time. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wrote it into specification that this bulb cannot be coated. Although we can request a waiver, this is not currently in progress."

Hmmm. So how did this come up? Was it discussed in another thread? Please elaborate...

This came about after I tried finding H9 SilverStar replacements for the stock highbeams. Luckily I read a couple of threads in this section and didn't make the mistake a couple of other members made of buying 9005 SilverStar's thinking they would fit the H9 wiring receptacle.

There was some confusion early in the threads regarding H9/9005 fitment in an 8 with HID's...there still appears to be some confusion over whether there would ever be SilverStar availability (under the domestic Sylvania or the cosmopolitan Osram names) in the H9 category.
