Just got my new shift knob, courtesy of the the Knobmeister. It's mahogany, with the rotary symbol etched into it. It matches the interior really well. I love it!

(This is my first post with pics, hope it worked!)

Very nice shift knob Tom. The Knobmeister is very well known in the Miata community and does excellent work. I had him make up the first RX-8 laser cut license plate surrounds for me :)

DreRX8 07-16-2004 09:43 AM

That is really rich--I like it.

looks good ,know you can polish your knob

Looks nice. How's the (I assume) lighter weight affect the shift feel?

epitrochoid 07-24-2004 12:25 AM

not a huge fan of the chapappy interior...but that knob compliments is nicely

re: shift feel

Well, it's definitely different. I didn't realize how heavy the stock knob really is until I took it off! I would say it's a little notchier, but some shifts (like 4-5) are easier (less clumsy?). Less effort required overall, and you can shift with two or three fingers and a light touch. It took me a few days, but I decided I prefer it over the stock knob.

IMO it matches very well with the interior. The engraving looks good too.

eh, nice.. but not for me though... but to each his own

Mr. T-UP 08-02-2004 05:46 PM

Mahagoni? (is mahogany the english word??)

Sounds like MERCEDES BENZ!

Or....... Oltimer?

Or.....Very British? Is the Car Green painted?

No way...i don`t like it.......the RX is a SPORT CAR! Not a Limo!!!

If the knob will be in aluminium or another METAL material with the ornament (symbol) i will give 10 points for the Knobmeister!!!

The symbol is PERFECT....but woody-style????

tpschar 08-03-2004 07:34 AM

Heh! Yes, my car's green, with the black and tan interior. (Mmmm, black and tan...)

Thanks for your comments. The knob really does fit the look of the interior. I wasn't interested in getting a metal knob that gets cold and hot. The Knobmeister can definitely do both, though!

i second that goes perfect with interior.

BigMoeTaki 08-03-2004 05:19 PM

Nice knob, especially if the color matches the tan/brown leather.

Nemesis8 08-03-2004 05:23 PM

It would be cool to fill the engraving with something metallic also.
