Need your opinion.

Hi, I have a Stormy Blue rx8, and i am in the process of installing my Mint Blue body kit. Im sure its not everyones favorite, but very few people have it and i like it. Anyways im trying to decide what color scheme to go with. I have 2 ideas that ive pretty much narrowed it down to.

Idea 1-White rims/ badges. something like Gramlights 57 Maximums 18"

Idea 2-Black or Gunmetal rims with carbon fiber or black accents... possibly CF hood. but the main reason id be doing this is to replace my rear doors with either carbon fiber or have them painted black... Rotr8 has a photoshoped version of this here... https://www.rx8club.com/forum/album....9&pictureid=86 . But i dont know if it would look good still on a Stormy blue. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks

no1 really? not even any haters?

I'm personally a fan of Idea 2, Idea 1 with the white rims has been seriously overdone.

Though I also have never been a fan of carbon fiber hoods.. accents yes, but major body panels - nah.

you could ask someone to photchop a picture of your car.

mscamp02 01-31-2009 12:06 PM

I dont really like number 1, never really have been a fan of it on any car. But idea number 2 I think could look really good, you just need to get it photoshoped with your paint color

I agree CF hoods are ok...but when you add door panels etc, it looks like the car is in a perpetual state of repair.

TopGear8 02-01-2009 09:00 PM

Only time that looks good is on the Audi R8

05rex8 02-01-2009 09:02 PM

not my cup of tea. maybe if you had some other CF parts to match it would look better. Go for it if you like it though!

I think you should keep it simple. If you want a two-tone, keep it simple. The clean look is always the right route.

8rocks 02-01-2009 10:40 PM

Think it through if you do a 2-tone. You may start off liking it but the infatuation will soon fade away. Subtle accents are a different story. Wahtever you end up going with, GL.

trianglesarefaster 02-01-2009 10:45 PM

im thinking with dark rims, carbon hood and possibly wing, it would look good... by itself, it does look 2 much like a wreck happened

I aggree with that 100%, all the photoshops I do for my car are to prevent me from doing something that sill cost alot of money and may be an impulse, so far its kept me pretty humble with unique ideas...

If you had the silver 8, it would be differnt, but not with the blue. That silver one looks fierce though.

trianglesarefaster 02-06-2009 09:07 AM

i know right!!! well ive decided against it for now at least... im gunna get wheels and finish my body kit then decide what im gunna do from there...
