Yes you're right. It's authentic, serial numbers and everything. Thats the guy I bought it from.

I don't think they removed the bumper beam. If they did they didn't tell me.

The only "custom fitting" they told me about was them cutting out a tiny piece of the bumper for the air sensor. And a little bit of filling in small cuts, the thing was in storage with the previous owner for 2 years.

I've just had it brought to the shop I should've went to the first time. I'll keep the update's and pic's coming as I get em.

edit: ****..... an Authentic Vertex Kit that fits like crap. Good thing Im going with a Replica. It all depends on the relationshipo you have with the body shop and their rep. Looks like they took your money and ran with it. Sux man.

it's a kit that sat at who knows what weird angle with who knows what on top of it for 2 years. expecting that to fit would be silly

Haha Funniest **** man was browsing through your pictures and was like damn this car looks familiar. Then it hit me like a brick wall when I saw your location.

Haha I just saw your car like 3 hours ago @ the shop off of 40th, will refrain from
naming company. Damn man never seen you around here before, man I was up there checking out your car and to be quite honest it looks really good man aside from the minor blemishes you noted, they did an awsome job on your paint.

I have me wheels up there getting refinished & powdercoated diamond black, I do have to admit they have been jerking me around for the past 2 weeks on my wheels gettting done but they do quality work from what I've seen & heard so I'll give them leeway. I finally got some straight answers after going up there today though.

Yeah man they are good ppl though they will def take care of you no sweat, just there timing sucks.

Offtopic: hit us up, in our thread Hampton roads mazda meet in the NE section.

you guys are nuts to think its not that bad, even if he would've paid 2 dollars or 1800 it doesn't matter. it should look like the car came with the kit aka perfect! someone is paid to do a job it should be done right

wow, I am sorry to hear that. It is totally do-able. At the most pay for any materials up front and then the balance when picked up. And then only if you are satisfied.

My car has been in the shop for a few weeks and my shop will not turn it over unless I am completely satisfied. Even then if I find any defects or flaws their rep is worth more than my money. They take care of you.

I paid a little more but that is because its a complete color change.

I would go back and ask them to fix their work, if they refuse then get it fixed and docment everything and then take them to small claims.

Well thanks for the info man. I had a thread up to ask what I should know about going to a body shop a few weeks ago. If I only knew then what I know now, lol.

Well they did offer to "try" to fix it, but that was after many excuses telling me why it wouldnt fit "Its aftermarket, it'll never fit 100%"..is just one.

I've got it at another shop now. I'm waiting for a quote and I have a feeling i'm not gonna like it.

I agree with DJ Charlee.. a shop should treat a car as if it were they own and not care about the money but care more about their reputation My BodyShop is the same way, sometimes he tells me he has to charge me mroe than what he quoted me and lets me know why, but in the end it JOB is PERFECT.

Hope you get it worked out. It might not look that bad to a passer by, but that little stuff would drive me nuts. If that's the normal fitment with body kits, I'd never buy one. For me, it's got to look like it came from the factory.

Oh wow.. haha... I know Mike Personally... I remember him asking me if I had read about this on the inter webs.. I had not... I know he was very bothered by this and was upset about it... Ive seen some work he has done small things on my old RX8 and other peoples car... it was ok nothing THAT BAD but actually OK..... Wow.. that 350Z was awful... I don't even know If he has a shop anymore Ive called him many times and he never picks up and nothing about Import Images can be found anymore??? But Yea I got a REALLY good paint shop nowadays so Im happy.. You really get whatcha pay for and if you can really look at peoples work in person its buyer beware..

I know this is an old post but just saw it off another link.. haha..

Yeah and shops change depending on staff. My buddy owned a shop with his father, they had three locations, including one at the nicest Mercedes dealership in town. They grew too fast, lost their best body guys, and closed their two biggest locations. Eventually he and his dad had a falling out over it because he saw it coming years before, and he split to another state and opened a shop there.

Well I sent a few people to his dads shop thinking he still did good work (he started it all afterall) and they did a pretty half assed job and his dad had a pretty shitty attitude about fixing the mistakes. It was sad to me because I have referred many high end car that were really badly wrecked cars to them and they did awesome work. But I guess it only takes a few changes in staff to change things quick.

Oh how that rings true in many cases... Just where im at in OC and LA area in ca... The shop I go to now has got it **** together only because of the owner has been through all that crap, over the 16 years I have known him.. He started out back in the late 90's with a Speed shop. It grew very fast... Then added a paint and body shop... He did good work but he needed to hire help that wasn't so good.. eventually he had to close his shop and take some years to regroup. Meanwhile some of the hired help made their own shop and it was going good as they started out as a paint and body was doing great work.. Grew too fast lost people and quality went to crap.. Now my friend opened a new shop about 3 years ago.. Dropped the speed shop part pure focused hands on paint and body shop.. insanely detailed and only gets a couple of people who KNOW their stuff If they are not willing to produce body work or paint to his standard they are gone.. He will by himself redo a car all over if it is not to his liking before he sends it out with his name on it. Just had some cars in the SEMA show and got 4 Global Media Awards... So It goes to show that really being involved in what you put your name on means so much... If you hire people make sure they play by the same game as you do...
