Moisture in my fog light?!

Wtf!?

I was just cleaning my MS intake filter and when I went to sit down and agitate the filter I noticed water in my pass. fog light. Any ideas how this happens? Obviously a bad seal or something broken on the exterior? I noticed my pass. side oil cooler has taken a beating since the last cleaning, maybe a rock hit it? I was going to post a pic , but apparently my camera phone file size is too large.

Next question is how do I fix it. I was going to order the white bulbs for the lights tomorrow, but now I'm going to hold off until I fix it.

Input please.

I had the same issue with water in my passenger fog light. Had it replaced under warranty. It hasn't come back since it was replaced.

I had that problem after installing some cheap bulbs. I pulled the housing out (this can be done easily, no bumper removal or anything, just a couple of screws). I then used the g/f's hair dryer to dry it out. reinstalled and put some higher quality bulbs in and haven't had the problem since.

Well I'm out of warranty so free replacement's not happening. I will take a look at the assembly's themselves before I put it back on. Thanks for the input guys!

remove the bulbs and use a hair dryer or a heat gun to dry the inside out. i think there is supposed to be a rubber O-ring round the bulb, make sure it is good and see how long it stays dry

edit:wait, there may or may not be an o-ring, it has been a while since i have taken mine apart. keep in mind tho that there is a vent on the back side of the fog light that should have a screen covering it. if that screen is removed or pointed up, it may be collecting water that way.

Also, be careful when you re-install the bulbs. Get those little tabs lined up straight and slowly turn the bulbs as you install them. It is easy to get them cross-threaded and eventually you'll be doing this again.

Oh, and use Hoen bulbs. I went through a couple of sets from autoillumination.com before seeing the light....:)
