Mazdaspeed Wing Brackets

I am looking for the Mazdaspeed Wing bracket dimensions. Does anyone have a template that shows the dimensions or a wing they can use to take exact measurements.

I know others have needed replacements in the past, and I have a fabricator willing to make replacements for those that need them.. but he needs the proper dimensions to have them laser cut. I need the hole locations and the proper measurements.

I am specifically looking for the lower bracket dimensions.

I have an sketchup model that's pretty close. Measured with calipers. There are some issues with it though. It's not quite the right angle. In fact, the model is a right angle, but the brackets I have are actually 94°. It also doesn't have the holes for the mounting the brackets to the trunk. My trunk already has a wing, and the brackets I have were drilled in the wrong spots, so I left them blank.

I can get it to you once I'm at home. I think it's pretty good, but would be open to input on changing them.

I can send it over to my fabricator to see if it's of any use to him, with the information you have provided about it's errors as well. Appreciate it!

Alright, here you go.

that's a dwg (AutoCAD file)

The other is an SKP, which is for Sketchup.

Anyone can view those files, so if anyone is lurking, feel free to download them if you'd like. I can probably take some time this week to improve them as well.

Thanks a lot for providing these. I did send them to my friend to see if they would work for him.

Did you ever tweak/improve them at all?

Great I may be interested in the brackets

I didn't ever set any time aside to improve them because I just ended up using the ones I had to make replicas.

Unfortunately, the guy who installed the wing didn't understand what I was getting at with leaving the trunk cover off so I could test the strength of my carbon fiber replicas, and actually installed the carbon ones like they were the grommet for the aluminum ones...

I was wondering where these files came from. I think I helped Jazer back in May on improving the files and converting them to dxf files so they can be used with a water jet. Not sure how they turned out for her or if she ended up making them but I do have the flat files of the lower brackets if anyone is interested. I can't guarantee how they fit as I don't have one to measure against, I mainly just built directly off of bwilk's files, so my dimensions are the same

After having my wing installed (albeit not by the best autobody person in the world) I found that the bases, which are flat, do not match the contour of the trunk which has some curve to it. This is not reflected in the original files. I don't know if it's a constant radius or variable, I just ended up bending my brackets with a hammer and a bunch of elbow grease.
