Mazdaspeed Replica

I know how we always talk about how replicas are trash and what not on these forums but since it seems this is brought up just about every other week I thought I'd check and see if anyone has had any first-hand experience with this vendor/kit?
I'm not sure what their prices are. We all know replicas aren't perfect. These are pics that are featured on their site but who knows how much modification has had to have been done to get this result.

before anyone says they stole the pics and its a genuine mazdaspeed kit. the gray doesnt look right. its too light.

go ahead and order it, if those pics are legit, fitment looks good.

the grey color on there isn't that bad but it would probably depend on the car color. the light grey probably wouldn't look that great on a other colors, it seems to work with the WB.

Looks good to me. Buy it than let us all know or get us a price and post up.

The pics don't show how much he spent at the body shop getting it to fit right...

imput1234 10-05-2009 12:09 PM

^
I spent $200 to get my bumper painted, its not perfect but its good, all the random waves in the bottom of the bumper are from bolts being too tight and are fixed now:

authentic will obviously always be better, but I don't know why people always say you'll spend thousands in the bodyshop getting something right, I spent $200 total on my bumper, its urethane, and works well for me, but with replicas it's always a hit or miss.

Cool man... I was looking at getting this as an alternative but I'd like to get some input from others. Also this will help other people decide hopefully on the forums. Is yours the Accolade kit or a different replica? If I were to get it for my car I would probably have the trim painted black since my car is already cosmopolitan gray. I think it would look stupid to have a dark Grey body with lighter trim.

Yeah Im going to go ahead and say those pics are stolen from a geniune kit. Any factor could make the gray look lighter then real MS. The fitment is just too good lol. Or you could just say Im full of shit and order the kit ;)

Have you searched the board about this seller?

Actually I did search. Found the group buy that they had organized awhile back but this doesn't pertain to their current line. I'm looking for anyone that has dealt with them recently. Even previously would help. Most of the pictures from that thread have been deleted or are just no longer available.

I've heard some bad things about accolade, specially their fenders... but from that website u posted fitment seems really good if those are actually their products. Are all their products going to fit that well? I highly doubt it.

kainis2k 10-06-2009 03:08 AM

I have no doubt that some body shop magic had to be performed to get this done right. That was on Accolade's site. I'm most likely looking at ordering the MS kit directly from Mazda as it seems to be cheaper there than places like SR Motorsports, etc. I guess a little off topic but for those leaning more toward authentic, where would probably be the best place to get a genuine kit for a good price. I'm a member on Mazdaspeed Motorsports and the part numbers are not coming up at all under their store.

replicas are great if you plan on tracking your car (abusive driving).. there was a dude in ny that had the authentic kit and he does a lot of racing (beano), and that shit got beaten to pieces so he swapped it out for a replica.

kersh4w 10-06-2009 02:45 PM

i heard accolade fitment is good EXCEPT for their fenders.

Krazed_Rx8 10-06-2009 03:42 PM

^ I've heard both good and bad things about em.. but like they say with replicas its either a hit or miss

The front will most likely fit no problem or only need slight adjustment around the corner light. The rear will most likely not fit worth shit if it's eurethane. There is way too big of a body line in the back where it can go wrong. And in the sun eurethane gets really flexy and will make the bodyline even worse. I had a full eyrethane replica when I bought the car and tossed the rear for stock. But with slight adjustment I got the front perfect. Sides are pretty good too.

Mine was a KBD or KDB something, I had a bodyshop fill the stamped logo.
