Mazdaspeed Bumper Change

I am buying a used 2004 mazda rx8 but I hate how the bumper looks. How much would it cost to change this to the mazdaspeed bumper?

Hope this is the right part of the forum thanks in advance.

You have to try finding a Dealer that has the actual bumper since they stopped making them. You can also buy it online through JapanParts.com. Direct Parts from Japan. :wavey:

Found it.

Now I got to find out how to paint it.

^that is a knock off and not a real mazdaspeed and most likely will need quite a bit of fitting to get it right. not just paint.

as far as how to paint it take it to a bodyshop.........because if your asking how then you probably dont have the necessary equipment or the know how to do it.

real one will cost 3x that

LOL, are you kidding me? That is a REPLICA, which means its going to fit like crap....plus its not going to hold value, but its up to you. We Live and We Learn.

If your only going to change the front bumper, then it will look weird. Unless you get the oem aero package with it, then it will look okay. Plus, lower the gravity for good looks.

They are discontinued in factory colors but you can still purchase a primered bumper through the dealership or mazdatrix (they do not ship though.)

And yes you can get them through Japanparts.com but it will cost roughly $400 more than what the dealerships get them for.

Checking out the sit now and I can't find it???

All in all I went from hating this color to being in awe with the bumper. Still praying they have it somewhere.

There's only a few select places in the us that have pieces of the kit. Expect it to cost about 2000+ for whole kit. Unless you get knock off which you'll end up paying a body shop to fit it.

Wow so expensive. Thx everyone for the help.

Mazdaspeed bumper is hella expensive but it fits great and is super durable. You get what you pay for. If you get a replica its real easy to have your fitting costs go through the roof depending on how bad the replica is.

sorry to bring up an old thread, new to the forum and to the 8 but why would you pay 2000 unpainted from japanparts.com when you can get it from here http://ocmazdaspeed.com/mazda-speed....RX-8&year=2004 for 1300 painted factory color? I love the mazdaspeed kit and am debating really hard it I want to spend that much change for body parts when the car looks hella sexy just slammed on nice wheels.

the internet has turned into a wasteland of old pages that nobody ever goes back and deletes. Hate to think about how fubar it will be 5 or 10 more years from now.
