Mazda Speed Kit...

Hey guys,

Is there any website out there that has the mazda speed kit other than Mazda? I love the kit, but I'm not too sure I really want to pay the $2400 to get the full thing...

Thanks in advance

you could go with a replica...i believe thats the only option to significantly reduce the price

Kings8 12-20-2005 03:54 AM

Yes, but you also significantly reduce the quality with the knockoffs.

With the original Mazdaspeed body kit, you have no problems with fit and finish. They are also ready to go, as they come pre-painted to match your body color.
Check in the Vendors section for someone to supply you with the kit. The price will most likely be less than it is from your Mazda dealer.

Or you could just buy the peice's seperately over time, like the front bumper and sideskirts, and then the rear bumper.

i am getting the parts one at a time, the cheapest price's on the parts ive found have been from vendors on this site.

The avg price I see for the parts is :

Foglight bracket : 60
Front Nose : 1280
Side Skirts : 720
Rear Diffuser : 720
Rear wing : 800
Wheels : 480 ea (alum) 1480 (mag)
Shocks & Springs : 645
Sways F & R : 345

All prices are shipped. If you still cant find that stuff for around that price, PM me.

I assume that if you own one that has a discontinued color, you should get the kit now. They may not be available much longer.

looks like ky has it down cold
I got my replica utherane kit for 1500.00 total

Thanks for the help guys. Can someone give me a link to a few good vendors on here that have the exact kit for sale (not the replica)...? I guess I should go with the original really. I don't want to deal with fitment issues.

Would it look out of place if I just had the sides without the front/rear...or the front without the sides/rear? I dont want things to be too low on the side, and too high on the front (or vice versa).

Thanks guys :)

Has it the cheapest that I could find(so far) They are also a forum dealer so you should check out their board here.

I haven't bought mine yet since I'm still looking for a shop to install it that I can ship it to and won't charge me an arm and a leg.

I ordered a knock off of the Mazdaspeed kit from streetconcepts.com. I have heard on here that it is getting a little played out, but I like the look of it compared to the other kits. As soon as I get the kit on I will put up a post about fitment issues. It is urethane so it should be fairly durable.

I went to streetconcepts but didn't find anything.

Hey Mike B, how do you like your MS replica kit? I'm thinking of buying one. Do/did you have any fitment issues? How hard was it to get the shop to match the paint to rest of the car? How's the quality in your opinion? Sorry for all the questions but so far you're the only one that I've seen that has the replica.

First off, while lots of RX8 owners are going with MS kit (myself included), how many RX8's do you see everyday, and of those, how many have the MS kit, or a body kit at all? Im sure there are a few others with the MS kit in central FL, but I have yet to see 1 in the 3 years since the RX8 first came out (not counting the 2 I saw at HIN or the 1 at a central FL rotary meet). Bottom line (IMO) many have it, but the car is already so rare to see (at least where I am) that I never bump into another 8 with the MS kit.

The OEM is Meton (sp) from looking at it, its like a urethane with fiber in it to renforce it...really tough stuff.

RX-8's are all over Hawaii. I can hit the interstate and head to Waikiki and count on both hands the number of 8's I'll probably see on the way there. Not a lot of different body kits though. I will be one of the first here on Pearl Harbor with a MS look to my 8 though.

I completely agree, especially being in Ohio. I personally think the MS kit is the best looking kit out there, and if you like it, it shouldn't matter if anyone else has it.

But back on topic, I've seen the best price at onlinemazdaparts.com, and it's free s/h to the end of the year.

FWIW - I decided to go with the MS kit; mainly because of fit, and the fact that I don't have to wait for a body shop to get the paint done, or get it right. It really depends on how much time/effort/money you want to throw at it. I haven't got it yet, but I'm sure that I and a friend or two can get the bumper, side skirts and wing installed in less than a day... maybe a little more, depending on how much beer we go through....:D
I got mine from Rosenthal, (in the vendor forum), right at $2700 for the bumper, skirts, and wing.
