Lip spoiler?
Wondering if they are available somewhere yet, painted and relatively inexpensive.... I like that spoiler a lot and if I can just use double sided tape to put it on (no holes) that would be even better.
Anybody? |
The OEM kit? You are being a little vague. Any more details?

Anybody? I swear to god I saw an RX8 with a lip spoiler a few weeks ago near my house  |
Well, there's the OEM, KS Auto and Leg Motorsports. Here are some pictures :).

Wrong lip spoiler. I think they're referring to a lip spoiler for the trunk.
I was wondering what was going on with that project, too. |
I'm working on it ... along with several other items ... gotta do that vendor thing first. In the meantime, here's a picture of mine. I'll have some announcements in a couple of weeks.
I still have the names of those who previously contacted me. |

Please keep me in mind :) |

No drilling for me! :) As part of my product testing, quality verification and installation validation testing I have been running with only 2-sided foam tape for several months. I have been using the best tape 3M offers, not that pitiful gasket tape used on OEM UK lips. With numerous 100+ MPH (off public roads of course) runs, high heat, humidity, rain, etc. I have seen zero, none, nada adhesion degradation. Were I to try and pull or pry off the spoiler from my trunk, I am certain the trunk surface would permanently bend and the spoiler would snap in two before the tape ever gave way ... it's that strong. 3M makes some amazing products, and when proper surface preparation is employed, they provide excellent service. It's just a matter of doing it right and using the best products available ... no short cuts. I am 100% confident (and my testing validates) that the 4 posts are not necessary when top quality 3M tape is used ... and no, I do not work for 3M. :) The real beauty is that with a little fishing line and 3M adhesive remover, I can put it back to stock in a few minutes. Terrific for those folks who lease their 8 and want to avoid the charges certain to come from drilling holes. |
I can attest to the weather. The dirty south is HUMID and HOT right now.

I like this even more now... i'm torn between the lip spoiler and the MS wing so I was hoping that maybe this lip spoiler would only use 2 holes (2 of the MS/OEN wing holes) so I could change my mind if I didn't really like the lip spoiler.
But if this is only taped on and will stay putt then its that much sweeter. |
I'm waitinnnnnnnng.
|
Does it make any wind noise? (That was crazy to ask, at those speeds who cares - right?)
|
well the oem unit has 4 post and inserts.. so 4 holes I have..
