Installed turn signal resistors, still blinking fast.
 

I installed four amber LED's to each headlight and tail light, and as expected, got the hyperspeed turn signal. I read some other threads and installed wirewound resistors (10W, 10 ohm) from radioshack, soldered some wires to each resistor, and spliced each resistor to each turn signal using wire taps.

They still blink fast. I checked to see if the resistors were getting hot, and sure enough the back two resistors (the one's on the tail lights) were so hot I couldn't touch them for too long.

The front ones however, were mildly warm, but just barely.

Any ideas? Couldn't find someone with the same issue.

yes 10W, 10ohm..........

You can't just slap on any combo of load resistors and expect certain results...

Tried two 3ohm 50W load resistors and make sure they don't touch anything plastic (or fibrous).

You need actually three of those 10W, 10 Ohm resistors per side to prevent the hyperblinking. I know because that's what I have too. I have two in the front and one in the back per side. One in the front and back wasn't enough.
It works but if I'd do it again, I'd just go with the VLEDs resistors. It's a cleaner and better solution and not that much more expensive to make it worth messing with this.

When you say three, do you mean three resistors per light? Or three total? If you mean total, I have four in right now, one on each light.


And to the other responses, I was told by a few other people to use the 10W, 10 ohm resistors. Not everyone can be an electricity professional ............. (I like to use multiple dots too :rolleyes:)

As I said, two in the front and one in the back per side. So in other words, three per side. Which is six in total (per car) :)

i ended up putting one 6ohm 50watt resistor on each bulb everything works great. My full conversion is from vled and couldn't be happier with the way they work and perform!

Or you know, you could of just took out the blinker unit and installed one with a smaller resister - that is my plan; there is a DIY somewhere on here.
