what is the difference between these two? i'm looking on japanpart.com at the ING kit.

hybrid aero is like a urethane material which is very flexible and bendable........it could take more abuse.... and FRP is fibreglass reinforced plastic which is japanese fibreglass.... better than the fibreglass we see here, the quality is much better...

hybrid aero $ > FRP $

^^^yeah what he said. FRP is more prone to cracking easier whereas hybrid aero (urethane) is like the OEM bumpers.

From seeing other people's FRP kits, the FRP is really thin, and will bend a good deal (meaning a few centimeters). It seems "cheaper" than the stock material. I don't know if Hybrid-areo is any better.

Sweet... I like the Ings+1 kit but it said I am too ugly for it. :p

I think the hydrid aero is worth the money - since some people can twist it 90 degree and the kit still retained its shape and NO cracks!

im sure even though its able to bend 90 degrees, but the paint wont.
do that once its painted and bend it, the paint will crack
i'd personally prefer fibreglass

Without much time to install any parts that I have laying around (MS Fiberglass knock off kit) I have been thinking about ways to reinforce the thin fiberglass without adding extra fiberglass layers. I am planning, when I find the time to do something, to take expanding foam and reinforce the side skirts from behind by filling as much of the void as possible. This will absorb any pressure placed on the FRP and will greatly reduce any penetrating forces if this were to happen. This could also be done with the front end but I am unsure about the rear end piece.

have you looked at those mesh type reinforcement? it not the type of mesh you put on the opening of the bars, its more like fibreglass, and it is used to strengthening. can be applied the same way as fibreglass.

As said above the Hybrid is a urethane based, however it is still a form of fibre-glass. Its just the resin thats different, doesn't set as rock solid as normal FRP. It does flex, but it still has the fibre-glass mesh visible from the inside.

I'm very happy with it - definitely worth the extra cash.
