How strong is 3M??

I'm trying to install the rear deflectors, but I don't want to drill a hole into the bumper. So I was thinking that I'd just 3M-tape it. Anyone know if the 3M alone (along with 1 screw on the side of the deflector) would be enough to hold it?

Probably not.....

Yeah, it's a big step to carve out a gouge in such a visible location, but you just have to bite the bullet and do it.

Tape is a terrible option because the shell of the deflector doesn't really touch the body in many places, you would be bridging quite a gap.

I seriously considered all the epoxy/tape/glue options, but the biggest drawback is you would have to cut off the tab that pokes thru the hole....then if your glue/tape etc. fails, you are SOL. The tab is the only thing keeping the back half of the deflector on the body, without you would find it flapping around pretty soon.

Face it, you are never going to take them off and go back to stock, so just get out the old Dremel, grit your teeth and chop that gash in your bumper!

S :D :D
