Well pretty much everything is spot on. I got a guy near me who is really good. When i went to get an estimate on painting the roof, whole passenger side and hood, he gave me 2k minimum. The whole thing would prolly be 4k. This is with VR. Now if your changing color, don't forget door jams, engine bay... lot of lil things to consider. Repainting same color is easy as all you have to do it the exterior...

And while you are at it, grab a new bumper, maybe some OEM skirts and flares and ****, de-badge the rear and front and THEN have them paint it. If your gonna have the whole damn thing repainted then you might as well get everything done before you do.

 

im not having to worry about labor due to the fact a close friend knows how to paint cars super good and im helping him on the not so hard stuff...but anyway how much for some good glossy black paint (enough to paint the car of course)??? oh and a bit of the factory brilliant blue b/c im wanting to dome some detailing with it

if you don't have to worry about labor, why are you asking us how much it would cost to get your car painted?? if you're friend can paint cars "super good", just have HIM (god forbid you do it) call mazda and ask how much it would cost to order the paint you need. i mean, come on man.

to the op - it's a big deal to get your car painted an entirely different color, take it from the others that have done it. you're probably better off selling your car and getting the color you want, unless you decide to go for a custom paint job. i wouldn't just repaint it to mazda's specs.

It all depends on what you want and what kind of paint you're willing to pay for. My bro works at a bodyshop and he said that it could be as low as 500$, it all depends.
