How i can i make my car louder?

I know the RX8 and other rotary cars are supposed to be smooth running, not so loud of cars but i want my car to be louder then it is. Besides putting a Borla exhaust system and a K&N intake, What else can i do to make my RX8 sound beastly? Thank you for your help

hey i have an egency power exhaust, its loud as hell. boral's usually are pretty quiert. other than that try a mid pipe or cat-delete.

K&N Typhoon Intake
Midpipe (track only)
Agency Power exhaust

Warning on the K&N Typhoon II....it did make my car louder, but I lost power too. The stock intake brings air in at greater force (about 5lbs of pressure during heavy accel) and the air is cooler.

Get an AEM/Mazdaspeed intake, that thing is pretty damned loud when your getting up in the RPM's. Also get a good midpipe without resonators and it will increase the volume.

Or just take off your exhaust and run straight headers.

Just remove your exhaust from the header back, it will be plenty loud.

Stick you head out the window and go vrrrrrrrrooooooommmmm really loud?

Lil_Gato 09-22-2009 11:40 AM

I took off my mufflers and replaced them with glass packs... also I have no cat... that always helps... plus you can shoot flames that way, so you get noise and fire everyone enjoys that.

thebiggdaddy 09-22-2009 11:57 AM

I don't think you can make it any louder noticeably. If you don't want it too loud, then you wouldn't want to put a midpipe or a high-flow cat either. You're just going to have to deal with it or drive your car at high RPM all the time. Haha.

I tied a bunch of old coffee cans to my bumper and now everyone turns their head and looks when I roll by cause it's so beastly loud.

Put mega phones in your exhaust tips.

These types of threads sure seem to go from informative to absurd in a heartbeat. But then, it's a pretty absurd topic to begin with. We're refined sports-GT enthusiasts, not 'max noise' hot hatch racers.

simply just unbolt your stock exhaust??

alnielsen 09-22-2009 02:16 PM

Beep your horn.
Squeal your tires.

Jedi54 09-22-2009 02:19 PM

wow, this thread went downhill QUICK.

serious answer:
- Aftermarket Intake will help. AEM / Mazdaspeed are popular. (K&N is garbage)
- You need to redo some exhaust components. Since your'e already looking at a Borla, why not throw in a high flow cat? You can run a midpipe but it would be OBNOXIOUSLY loud unless it was resonated.

What does this have to do with exterior appearance and body kits? :scratchhe
