i found this on ebay and i have tried before to take my headlamp apart and can't get anywhere.. how do you get to this??
thats a great question. i have some water in it. i to would like to know.
you have to bake the headlight till the glue melts and then pull apart i cant remember the specifics but theyre a bunch of ppl on here who have done it it might even be in a diy
i guess will just wait till they answer. ill try to post a pic of my light. looks like it has water inside. im sure it has a hole some ware. just cant figure it out.
rotr8 is THE MAN!
actually i ment the ones in the bottom. like dozers yellow ones^
those are just yellow bulbs
and those are fog lights not the headlights
yeah but i got some water in it. tried to twist and turn it.... seamed like i was gonna brake it i kept on doing that. so i think im just gonna replace it soon. unless if theirs another way
the ones the OP was talkin about are the headlight
the yellow lights are from my fog lights |
never said hedlights
so how can i fix it?
:dunno:
holly shit. is this the first thing you dont know how to fix? or do you want crack for some advice?
i BS you not, i would assume to take the fogs out and give em a look
yeah i tried. no thread on it either. it seamed like i wanted to break wen i wanted to twist it off. i think the dealers or the previous owner just glued it on.
hmmmm thats weird
yeah now it has water in it. i think wen i go back to get the oil done, im gonna ask them to check it out
ill post a pic of it tomorrow.

:icon_no2: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=10941.html something tells me the fogs aren't glued on. :icon_no2:
and should it just twist off? im just saying the reson why i stopped playing iwith it was becuse if felt like it was going to crack. and easy e, you cant expect every one to know everything. i told you to draw me a figure i bet i could say shit to you. why becuse you dont know. just remeber not every one know everything about cars.
True not everyone knows everything about cars. But the inquisitive types like to research before throwing up the white flag seeking help. Removing the bumper is easy and there are plenty of threads on here discussing it. Spend some time on here learning as well as interacting with forum members. I'm not saying to stop asking questions but try to read up on the topic before jumping into a conversation or starting a new thread.
^ well i actually did. didnt know you had to take the front bumper off. thought you could just remove it as is (lightbulb).
you do have to take the bumper off but its REALLY easy

Cid - Follow the DIY Bumper removal in the DIY section... this will allow better access to the fog lights and will let you drain and re-seal them with some black silicon or new gasket or whatever you would like to reseal them with. If you still feel like you're going to break your light/car, you can do 2 things. Take it to someone who will ask for money in return for their services... Or accept that you might break and have to replace it with a new one. *phew! :sweatdrop |
thanks vin, at first i thought it was the fog lights. thats why i was asking those questions

i will take a picture of my bumper it is off right now and i am putting it back on tomorrow so you can get an idea of what to do.. it freakin takes 10 minutes to get it off.. the 10 screws on the bottom come off the black air diffuser(the thing around your hood latch with like six plastic rivets in it) and then four bolts and around the wheel well the bottom four or five plastic rivets there and voila.. no joke though maybe ten minutes... don't be afraid.. just take your time and be patient...
look in my profile there are pics of my aem cai install
thanks for the link rotr8...
thanks for the help guys. will take notes
