HID question

ok installed 6K HID kit in high beams and fogs...also upgraded low beams to 6K
since the install the blue bright lights indicator in the dash has stayed on
it is lit all the time and when i use my brights it gets brighter but, it stays on constantly even when not using my bright lights
anybody know what's going on...sensor maybe???

Ive always assumed that the blue high beam indicator light was a simple on/off activated by the switch it appears not.
it may be used to seeing a certain amount of Ohms / voltage and if it see’s greater than or less than that its activates the light.
Hopefully this helps put you on the right track.

thats what i was thinking but i dont know how to turn it off
also wonder why other people with HIDs dont have this problem

Not many people have put HID's in high-beams. You didn't use any sort of relay harness or anything like that did you? Anyone know if there's a high-beam burned out indicator? HID's will generally be much lower power than stock high beams (35W vs 65W.) I assume the beams themselves are off when the switch is off?
How do the HID brights work for you? I've always heard bad things about using HID's as high beams (cycling, warmup, glare, beam pattern, etc. issues.)

no relay harness
yes the high beams turn on and off fine the light just stays on
they are alrite...probably not as bright as the stock high beams but they definitely shine far down the road
they HID fogs are awesome though they light up both sides of the road and they arent as blinding to oncoming traffic as people say
only thing that ive had to do was level the low beams...but that was pretty simple
