Help with Paint Job.

Hi, I'm planning to paint my Rx8 Satin Black- I suppose the term of it is called Matte black. This will be my first paint job exclcuding the bumper and the lip kit...
I was wondering if there are any paint pros that can tell show me - Or tell me a how to guide. And what to know about painting, I'm planning to do my entire car...

The paint booth I''m using is also made out of pvc pipes plastic, tape and a fan... I also have an air compressor and a spray gun... sand paper, and what not... I was too poor for a garage so I made my makeshift paint booth. It's pretty well sealed. If you can give me any information on what I need to know assuming I don't know anything this would be great.

I hope you're kidding. If you are not, you will probably not be happy with the results.

First, learn to follow basic rules and guidelines of a forum https://www.rx8club.com/do-yourself-...-forum-163653/

Next, this isn't a car painters forum. If you want to learn to paint a car, or do any body work, I suggest you go to your local library or shopping center and find yourself a guide to auto body work. There is just way too much info to get into, to fit in a single thread/post.

Lastly, this is a large task you're getting into. If you've never done paint work, I'd recommend you either start small, or else have a professional do it. Don't ruin the look of your car (and the reputation of all rx8's) with your ignorance of the task at hand...

damn so much hate...

anyway, matte is different from satin i believe.

I agree with ^, find a good recourse for painting whether it be a forum/books/apprenticeship/whatever.

you can try using a matte black vinyl wrap, but most professionals seem to have a hard time wrapping the 8, being such a curvaceous lady that they are.

This sounds like a really bad idea...lol.

I've painted a few car parts in my time...Sand paper for the whole car, huh?...Good luck with the days of sanding you have ahead of you.
