Getting the Ms Kit

Ok So ive pretty Much decided i want a kit and i love the ms kit always have.
So i know their is no way i could put it on myself and their arnt many body shops around where i live that i would call "professional". So the mazda dealership told me i could order it through them and they could put it on for me. How much do you guys think this will cost, am i making a mistake? Their are alot of speed bumps and un even surfaces in my area, as far as clearence is this going to be a big problem, should i just go with the appearence package? Im very skeptical about the clearence issue because i know that my area isnt very good for low clearence cars, what are your reccomendations?

Thanks
-Ryan

Hm. Why don't you call the dealer and ask how much they charge? That would be alot better than us speculating for you. Now if you want to know what a fair price is, that is another story (one that I can't help you with).

As far as roads are concerned, the MS kit provides a significant drop. The appearance packaged is lower than stock, also. I read in a book that you should double-sided tape some wood blocks that are appx the height of the drop you will have / want to the parts of the car that are of concern (e.g. under the center and sides of the front bumper, and the center of the side skirts). If you knock them off, you know you either need to not install the drop, or be more careful when approaching said object (perhaps a parking block).

I think the same could be applied to body kits.

the MS kit is not really lower than the stock car. Only about .25-.5 inches lower in the front. It really isn't low at all. In all respect... it's pretty tall for a body kit , and it's not much lower than the stock kit , I think you can go over speed bumps easily with a 1 inch drop , no problem.

I have 1.5 inch drop and MS kit (only front and side on right now) and the body shop dudes said they can go up and down the ramps no problem into the shop and out.

I'm gonna go with Robert on this one. Aren't most body kits analagous to the words ground effects?

Good luck with your purchase shorty911.
