Funny Strake story

Hi, this is my first post, I am a longtime Mazda owner ('91 Miata, '95 RX-7, '07 RX-8). I recently bought the OEM strakes from RX8strakes.com. The install, at least for me, wasn't as easy as the instructions made it look. Tightening the screw on the lower strake resulted in the allen wrench slipping out of my hand and disappearing inside the body somewhere...is it me, or is the room there more suitable for a child's or girlfriend's hands? Thankfully, a 7/64 allen wrench is very close to a 3mm...and by wrapping tape around it I was able to avoid losing it on the other side...strakes look great though!

As a fellow PB owner, congrats. Now you gotta post pics.

the instructions said to screw it in while on the car? wow. for OEM strakes, the instructions are to take it out first. much MUCH easier

trun the car upside down.... its easier that way

it must be easier in australia since they're already upside down. :D:

no, first you need to raise your head out between your legs to see things properly, then learn to drive on the correct side of the road. :beer05:

Because of the clip position, you can't fully tighten the strake until the grille is in place. Then you rotate the clip down and tighten, which is when Mr. Allen pulled his disappearing act :-) I think the non-OEM strakes have a better design that allows you to fully tighten them on before putting the grille back.

I have the WB strakes from these guys and had no problems...well except for dropping them before even putting them on the bloody car!!!
