front mud guards installation

Putting on front mud guards that i just receive from delivery today.

I was just wondering how to remove the stone guard clips along the side of the car. People have said this installation was easy, but I'm just a noob. :p

By the way, I have 18" wheels.

Thanks in advance :D

I did the install and as I recall, you just carefully use something like a screwdriver to pop the clips out. Didn't you get the instructions? I still have them and can scan them if you want. One tip for you. Be careful when you cut the piece off the end of the stone guard. If you cut it at the point where the instructions suggest, it may leave a sizable gap between the stone guard and the end of the mud guard. Do some careful measuring before cutting. Good luck. You shouldn't have any problems if you follow the directions that came with the guards.

Thanks Go48.

I do have the instructions, but it seems confusing. From which side of the car do i stick the screwdriver in to pop it out? From the front of the car or the back?

Ditto on the trimming of the rubber molding. If you follow the directions you'll leave a big gap. I trimmed mine after installing the guard and there's no gap.

Check the Exterior forum... seems to me this has been discussed before...

In fact, I think I'll move this thread to that forum, as you're apt to get a lot better response there.

Not sure exactly what you are asking, but let me give it at try. A screwdriver is inserted from the outside edge of the car in case that's what you're asking. You insert the screwdriver between the body and the stone guard and carefully pry the stone guard down, away from the body. Be careful not to scratch the paint. You may want to put a little tape on the tip of the screwdriver.

You will be working from the front end of the car working your way to the back of the car, although it doesn't really matter since you are going to remove the stone guard entirely to cut it down.
