Fixing/Paint Prepping Fiberglass Sideskirts

Hey guys,

I came across some fiberglass sideskirts that need some minor work and searched the forum for some help with no luck. The sideskirts need a couple of holes filled and then I need to sand it down to prep it for paint. From what I understand for the patching, i would need to sand down the area, apply some product (help here), let it dry and sand smooth. For paint prepping I would assume to sand with a low grit(help here) and move higher up to smooth out. Primer and then sand again. Any tips/suggestions would help. I know I could save myself the trouble and go out and by an authentic urethane kit, but I figure I try this as a learning experience. Plus the satisfaction if these turn out well is much more nicer. Thanks.

what colour is your 8?
if it is blk or any other darker colours, get a professional to do it. blk and dark colour will show every imperfections.
get a tin of premixed fibreglass and a tin of bog (aka. body filler).
use 80 grit to get almost even/flat level, then go with 120grit, then 240 grit, then it will be fine enough for 2-pak primer.
after that, leave with the professionals... unless you have experience with painting.

its black of course. I wasn't planning on doing the painting because I don't own the equipment, but I wanted to get as much done as I could to keep cost as low as possible before I shoot myself and order a vertex lang kit.
