duraflex quality question
 

I searched "duraflex" to see if i could get any info on the quality of this material. There were a couple theads but nothing stating that anyone had pros or cons. If you have body parts made by this material can you please give me a yes or no based on your experiences.

garbage.....search extreme dimension

Got the "mazdaspeed" spoiler from them. Peice of garbage. The top spoiler part was okay but the bottom part that hooked up to the car wasn't finished. It looks like they ran out of plastic to make it and decided to ship it anyways. The body shop I took it too, did a couple alterations to it and salvaged parts of the bottom section. I didn't mind getting rid of most of it, but still. In the end I didn't get what I paid for and had to pay more to get what I wanted from the body shop. I unfortunately made my purchase before reading up on it. I'd say stay away and spend the money somewhere else. Even if it costs more, it'll most likely be better in the end.

dont buy replicas. bottom line...

garbage garbage, my friend had duraflex on his celica and it cracked and shattered to pieces upon install, and extreme dimensions makes extremely poor fitting parts for the rx8. :rant:

what about v-fibre....they guarantee fitment, or urethane??
i basicaly just need to know where i can get a decent kit for the money without having to go authentic.

same thing....stop being cheap

does anyone have any other info on their experiences with these types of material? btw i hardly call this being cheap.....im mearly doing my home work to get the best kit for the money. and if i can save some dough in the mean time so be it. i can think of alot better way to spend 2k than on a body kit. i not asking about they price i asking about the quality of the material.

a replica company takes an original part, makes a mold of it and then sells the copied part....even authentic kits need some fit work because after molding dozens of kits the mold tends to warp.....so now with a replica your making molds of already mildly warped kits......what makes you think if your the few hundredth kit yours is gonna be remotely close to fitting right?

then you need to go to mr body man......he needs to fit and paint the kit......if the kit is warped he has to charge you much more in labor to un-warp it and make it look decent......then he has to charge to take out imperfections like pinholes and fray.....then he needs to add material so it doesnt crack the first pothole you hit......

i also forgot to mention original materials....japanese fiberglass is much thicker and better put together (for lack of better words) than the cheap american knock off stuff......durability goes a long way when you are putting expensive body parts on your car.....

so in closing most people who buy these fake cheap kits are most of the time paying the body guy much more money to fix it than they might have paid for an original.....so there is a good chance you would fair better paying up front and having the honor of having the real thing...and it can save you in the long run financially and for the grief......not to mention real companies like VeilSide for instance have some programs that warantee or replace parts....try getting that from a knock off company

my car is in a body shop right now. i hit a telephone pole. the shop is owned by a close friend of the family. i want to put on a body kit while its in the shop and i wont have to pay for anything but the kit. so if i can get away with just material that is durable, without having to go authentic... i will. but if you are telling me that japanese fiberglass is the only thing durable enough to withstand everyday driving......it looks like i have no choice.

the US stuff for the most part is junk....i have heard of one company that is decent fit wise but its very thin and paint can spider on it.....that is shine.....if there is enough flex agent added to the paint then you could be ok.....another choice would be to search the classifieds here...i know for a fact there are some guys parting out high end authentics for a fraction of the price
