Dull and hazed headlight

So I figured to try that headlight restoration thing with my headights but after I finished the driver side headlight it looked nothing like before! I followed the instructions with wet sanding and working your way up with the different number of grits and then followed it with Meguiar's PlastiX polish and it looks like crap. It feels nice and smooth but looks hazy and dull. I know there are threads out there on how to do it but I did it and nothing, dont want to have it looking like that and don't want to buy another headlight to fix it. I got some pics too. Anyone out would appreciate any good suggestions

I used the plastx on my spare set of lights and was advised to apply, and buff about 7 times and after the 5th or 6th it was really starting to work, I ended up polishing them about 10 times... Its not a one time quick fix you really have to work it in, especially after sanding.

Hmm, someone also told me use like an aluminum polish before the actual Plastx as well, not sure if this might work but I guess gonna find out tomorrow... Thanks guys, err and or girls?! lol, thanks anyway!!

i think i have the same problem, i tried to scatch with sharp blade just a little but nothing come out, so i think it is INSIDE the lense. but if people here can buffer it out even if it needs 10 times it means it is OUTSIDE?

My warranty ran out so you can say I'm sh!t outta luck but it is inside. The outside of the headlight now looks flawless with the buff but inside its due to the condensation inside of it. The best thing to do is bake your headlight to remove the glue from the seal and clean the inside of it but it takes alot of balls to do risk any damage to it. So I'm cool with it, for now.

I used plastx the first time, and only saw the difference after the 4th or 5th application, however is well worth the effort as my headlights look brand new, now I use it once a while when the FL lovebugs get out of control.
