Down the Dark Path I go...

Heehee, I bought the parts for my first mod today...

$2.99 for a pack of anodized purple tire inflator cap thingies. I figured I couldn't screw that up too badly.

The first steps down the dark path of wallet destruction.

Well, I was good until the fourth and last cap replacement... I just couldn't seem to get the threads lined up, so I grabbed a hammer (only tool I had) and pounded the living... No, I'm kidding.

I have never done anything mechanical to a car, except one time when I had to re-attach a license plate to an '88 S-10 Tahoe pickup truck, and the holes in the bumper seemed too big for the 'standard' license plate plastic expando-thingies. So just bought some small bolts & nuts and did that. They fused together over the Massachusetts winter, but at least I was fairly certain it wasn't gonna come off again.

Actually, I need to check my condo's bylaws, I'm not sure I'm even allowed to do that much "car repair" here... I live right near the ocean, there are a lot of environmental concerns, not to mention I share my garage with my neighbor (although he's a pretty cool guy, if I keep the noise down, I can't imagine him having a problem).

Ain't it cool how this car, and this forum, inspires people to not only LOVE their car (as just about anyone who owns one does!) but also to actually WORK on it? Remarkable.
