To do.. or Not to do...
So I have this current infatuation with the dry CF look.. Because of this, i bought a seibon TSI matte finish hood. Now, this is my dilemma: Should I dry cf vinyl wrap the roof and the trunk? Or do you guys think it'll be too much? give me your opinions!
This is the site that got me hooked http://www.drycarbonwrap.com/gallery.html http://www.drycarbonwrap.com/installs/subywagon10.jpg http://www.drycarbonwrap.com/installs/suby07.jpg http://www.drycarbonwrap.com/installs/mini_top02.jpg this is my car currently without the hood (should be getting it next week) http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._3643778_n.jpg |
Is your hood dry CF as well? is so do it. Planning todo the spoiler as well?. I think it will look cool.
|
Like stated above, hood is matte finish seibon TSI. haven't received it yet.. but the suspense is killing me :D: I think i'm gonna just take the spoiler off.. I don't like having a spoiler
|
+1 that shit looks dope... i saw a dry carbon hood ona rx8 when i went to NC...
Looks sick |
haha thanks dennis =] i agree.. dry cf is hotness
|
I hope you know that is a Vinyl wrap and not CF,,, people throw the term 'dry carbon fiber' around way too loosely, it doesnt really reffer to the material so much as it does the proccess which cannot be just wrapped over any surface,,,
|
^ +1 but the hood will look nice. ;)
|
yeah it will look pretty good, and since the OP said hes become obsessed with the dry CF look he'll be happy, most likely
|
of course i know that. that's why i said dry CF "look".. I don't have the money to replace my roof with actual Dry CF, and that would be ridiculous. It's a wrap, and It can always be removed, that's why i'm leaning towards it.
if i had the money for an actual dry cf.. it would be fantastic, but i'm not a baller :( |

AH sinned post 666 hahaha

I think it would great for wrapping interior pieces, the only thing Id be a stickler about if I were putting it on the outside would be how closely it matches the real parts(ie your hood)
|
i'd say do it...why not lol

Just say no to fake mods. The wrap is just for pretend. That's not cool.
|
technically, most carbon fiber parts are "pretend" since they're just cf overlayed on fiberglass..
|
if u do it post up picssss
|
^ will do =)
|
i actually did the regular cf and didnt like so maybe this will be my next try .. we have VERY similar cars ...

but to have the same style for a fraction of the cost... y not... most of us buy replica parts anyway.....we get bumpers, lights, hoods etc. from other companys... no one really buys Re-amemiya body kits straight from Re.... i mean if u had the money you would... |

+1.. thanks sinned. I'm not gonna tell people it's real cf.. why would I? i even admit to people that a lot of the parts i have on my car are from ebay, and almost all the parts are used =) |

Ahhhh sweet..ll
good point i dont think its really pretend more like a certain style... i mean if he told people he had a CF roof.... then i would say no... but to have the same style for a fraction of the cost... y not... most of us buy replica parts anyway.....we get bumpers, lights, hoods etc. from other companys... no one really buys Re-amemiya body kits straight from Re.... i mean if u had the money you would... |
It might look pretty good, but I'm not entirely fond of black on grey. Especially if you're going for the dry look, instead of wet.
You may need to do quite a few other appearance things to match (i.e. B-pillar, tint, wheels, etc.) |
I say go for it. It'll look pretty cool.
|
i have flat black wheel, b-pillar and fuel door can be wrapped, flat black hood.. and probably flat black trunk
