hey rotr8 you never got back to me about replicating strakes for my accolade fenders if I made them for one side. I'm also debating doing carbon on the nose to go along with the hood trunk and soon to be roof.

ballin'!!!!!

Rotr8 10-29-2010 10:46 PM

Nice, get that painted and installed quick and get that snail running.

bumblebeerx8 10-30-2010 04:59 AM

yeah i would love to im working 12 hour days at a shut down right now. i have the accolade fenders up in the top of the grage that need to go on too

Gr8Bullet 10-30-2010 06:05 AM

I wonder what fog light mount brackets they'll use for the front.....

Looks sick tho.... I like....

bumblebeerx8 10-30-2010 09:17 AM

I'm going to make my own and modify the bumper to keep my crash bar so I can attach the projector hid fogs and intercooler mounts

Rotr8 10-30-2010 11:31 AM

I modded my crash bar to fit my modded AutoExe bumper, There is a lower box frame that can be cut away that doesnt tie into the bars stands, you can reduce the hieght of the box frome in the front by half. Is this safe, dont know, its probably there for a reason(minimal hieght for a crash zone or something) but I figured the meat of the bar was the upper portion.

bumblebeerx8 10-30-2010 11:52 AM

yeah I was looking at Modding both like you say. it was dark and I only looked at it briefly. hey rotr8 how about those strakes I pmed you about on the accolade fenders

Rotr8 10-30-2010 03:10 PM

I only vaguely remember your request. Im not sure what you would like me to do? I especially cant build anything based off pictures. whatever part you would like I would need the part its fitted to to even know where to begin.
I know you sent me a pm a while ago, but I get so many pms like it that I most likely overlooked it. Send me another messege detailing what you would like, and Ill see what I can do.

ЯX-8 11-04-2010 03:52 PM

Niceee bumblebeerx8!! ^^ Looks pretty evil looking.. I'm gonna be working on Phil's 8 C-West front bumper on Saturday, I can't wait to see it in person and put my custom touch to it. :)

pdxhak 11-04-2010 03:53 PM

What are you going to be doing with Phil's bumper?

Phil's 8 11-04-2010 04:21 PM

We will take some pics of what we do..........Mine is still in the box.

pdxhak 11-04-2010 04:28 PM

ah man top secret eh?

ЯX-8, you do body work?

bumblebeerx8 11-04-2010 04:38 PM

mine is going for paint tomorrow

bumblebeerx8 11-04-2010 05:06 PM

oh you have to cut the bottom portion of the crash bar trim a 1/2" in and down on that section of the radiator hole. then you have to shave the part that presses in the corner lights. its a bit too thick to press in with ease. other that that its pre drilled holes new tabs forundertray screws. mesh for everything. not any lower than stock bumper with app package.

Jedi54 11-04-2010 05:17 PM

how's the fitment?
(aside from having to modify the crash bar)

around the corner lights?
where it meets the hood?
up against the fender?

Just wondering on a scale of 1-10 so people can get an idea of how much work their shop is going to need to put in for that OEM like fitment.

bumblebeerx8 11-04-2010 05:54 PM

9-10 before the 2 mods with a rotor zip which took 20 minutes. I'm not even taking the car to the painter.

Congrats Phil good choice :-)

chunbelievable 11-04-2010 06:44 PM

I'm the one who talk Phil into it!!!

Rotr8 11-04-2010 06:54 PM

Bumblebee and Phil, have u decided if your putting mesh in the grill or leaving it open?

bumblebeerx8 11-04-2010 07:01 PM

9-10 before the 2 mods with a rotor zip which took 20 minutes. I'm not even taking the car to the painter. all the issues were around the corner lights. the gap between the hood tightened up with this bumper

bumblebeerx8 11-04-2010 07:02 PM

im going to put mesh all all the holes but I have projector fog lights for the small holes by the oil coolers. the mesh is getting painted black and intercooler will be black too. it will be a sleeper

Phil's 8 11-05-2010 07:20 AM

Rotr8, my first choice was a bumper that you were going to make (and still may) and then my second choice was an ATH that is impossible to get into this country at any thing like a reasonable price. Then I thought an R-magic might look nice but alas it was not for me. Chunbelievable brought up this one and it did look nice so.............................

I will be adding something to the grill area. Not yet sure if it will be mesh. That is only one of the things that we will be working on. I have three different sets of fog lights/running lights and want one set to mounted into the bumper. I also want to check fitament and be able to tell the body shop the points that may have to be altered. Armin has transformed his 04 into an 09 so he is able to do body work but the final fitament will be left to a body shop so that the paint and lineup are perfect.

Rotr8 11-05-2010 08:37 AM

yeah sorry, it was just too big of a project for me at this point. I had all the equipment but no space to do the work, and not that much time between my day job and other contracted work. Hell its taken ShineAuto 5 yrs to build thier FEED repica kit and thats thier business, it will be a while before I acquire a spare garage or something to pull that off.

Do you have any pics of the alterations? We have some ideas but would like to see how you did it. I am taking my time, not in any hurry.

no i do not. my bumper is at the painters and should take about a week or so. sorry i described the best i could maybe this will help.

the crash bar was trimed the bottom picture even with the bottom of the main support i took the angle welded piece off and even all the way across

the corner lights the material was too thick to slide into the white snap pieces behind the corner lights.

last the big main radiation hole was trimed to make up the rest of the clearence to miss the crash bar which was a half inch or so of material in (from the longer lip of the top the part that rolls in is almost perfect.(picture attached of top view near crash bar may be a mirror image i dont recall) and a half to a full inch down.

you end up with a long strip with little ears in a u shape.

RotaryBoi 11-06-2010 09:19 PM

I LOVE this kit! I think it'll be mine once I pay off some recent unexpected expenses. :)

Grog 11-10-2010 07:19 PM

SO tempted to buy the front bumper of this kit and maybe mix it with the ings sides/rear in the future.

If the fitment is as good as you say it is... I just might give in

Phil's 8 11-17-2010 08:18 AM

Hay bumblebeerx8 how did you C-West front bumper turn out? I am still working on mine and it looks like it will be closer to 12/1 before I am done enough to have it painted. Damm fog light are giving me a trouble. It would be nice to see how yours turned out.

bumblebeerx8 11-17-2010 08:26 AM

still at the painters. he promised it would be done sometime this week because he got slammed. Is the smaller hole opening big enough to fit the oem fogs? I went to projector hid fog lights for mine. the size is smaller and they fit with room. I have not looked at mounting them yet though

I wish they were large enough......I have a set of 09 fogs and I may try and use those if I can........I do want drivers or fogs so I'll keep trying. Mounting them is the problem.

bumblebeerx8 11-17-2010 05:49 PM

yeah im looking at having to make some kind of bracket. i may mount so the stay attached to the car if the bumper comes off just not sure yet. i did get my carbon ms rear put on today but it was too dark for pictures. Also the painter called hestarted my front this afternoon

Damm, looks good. I should be sending mine in for paint soon. We are still mounting the fogs as the stock ones are my choice. My helper is working on the mounting. We very slow.....I ended having to take more out of the crash bar. Hoping to compete this Saturday for paint and getting the grills powder coated.

I'm done, mounted, painted and grills in. We completed it on Saturday but it was late so no pics. I don't get home before dark and my pic taking ability is terrible so I'm kinda waiting for others to take the pics. If no one comes by Saturday I'll try and take a few to post.

bumblebeerx8 12-16-2010 09:35 AM

so how did yous end up fitting? what fog lights did you end up going with?

The fitup is nice.....near stock fit. The body shop did the last of the fitup and was impressed. I decided to use the regular O4 fogs but Armin built a special bracket for them.
