Best Mazdaspeed body kit replica
 

i just wanted to know what the best replica kit would be in terms of fitment
and before i get lectured over here,..... i know, i know the real MS kit is the best , id love to buy it but money is an issue
can someone please put up some pics of a replica kit installed?

honestly, your most likely going to get an answer like "go authentic cause you might spend more just getting it fitted"

but other than that, i have seen members on here with replicas, and they do look like they have pretty good fitment, but then again there are also a few members who have pretty bad fitment [wont name them]

Just buy the authentic :lol:

On a more serious note... I've heard nothing but bad things about extreme dimensions so IMO that'd be one company to avoid. As far as good replica's I wouldn't really know... :dunno:

since i am in so cal, there is a few eBay sellers that are located in Los Angeles, which is a plus cause i can just pick up the kit

corksport supposedly has a decent copy, but it's not that cheap either...

What would you save on buying a replica. If it isn't more than 500 i could'nt justify a half-assed looking kit to save a little money. Esp since I plan on owning this car for a long time.

Just remember that if you get a genuine Mazdaspeed kit, it comes from the factory pre painted and you know it will fit very well. You can even install it in an afternoon with simple hand tools. That will be your out the door price, most aftermarket kits require fitment and painting and in order for it to look good, you would spend more money.

Also, most kits are made from low quality fiberglass and if you get a rock or something like that from driving around, a replica kit would probably take alot of damage. The Mazdaspeed genuine kit is much stronger in terms of quality and it may survive better if you live in an area with roads that aren't particularly good.

I know that you didn't want to hear this but I have to say that you may want to first find a body shop and ask them how much it will be to fit the kit and paint it and factor that into your calculations. Maybe that will give you a better picture of the total costs involved.

If after that you still want to go with a replica, I would say maybe to try accolade, I haven't seen any fitment issues with their kits but I wouldn't know from firsthand experience but rather other RX-8 owners who I've talked to.

I used to have a replica MS rear end that I used to replace my OE bumper after some schmuck backed into me (first pic), only to have that replaced AGAIN with OEM when another jerk did a hit 'n run number on me on the freeway (second pic). It really shows the disparity in quality between two; the replica piece has about the same durability as wet cardboard.

Honestly the fitment on the replicas are ok and of course the paint job depends on the shop...

Yeah i just read it. What the heck is FRP? It seems like an excuse for Fiberglass, is it actually a lot better? And theres no prices on that website :(

FRP stands for fiberglass-reinforced plastics.

I prefer FRP over plain fiberglass because it's able to flex a little bit and not crack, it also will not sag over time. It's a lot more durable as well.

im considering the accolade ms body kit but im wondering if you can use the foglight mounting brackets with it. does anyone know if you can?

i've seen good reviews and pics of vis and versus motorsports, both seem to just have a headlight problem.

im getting this done through insurance, so a 1.5k front bumper is not acceptable considering they wont have my color (metro gray)

dealership guy told me 1800.

the words "best" and "replica" shouldn't be in the same sentence.

Truthfully, I have yet to ever see a decent MS replica front bumper. All of the ones I have seen (and that would be LOTS of them) are pretty bad.
I would imagine after body work, installation, and painting it's gotta be pretty close to the cost of the original.

My body shop told me what materials to stay away from. Also when you get them, its all about the skill of the body department too. I traded my authentic one for a replica plus cash. My friend then had a fender bender with my car. It is currently at the shop and I will have it back by next year. I will post pics on fitment when it is done.

FRP or fiber reinforced plastic IS fiberglass.
There is no difference unless it is some sort of hybrid FRP, like shine auto project uses. Using the term FRP is a marketing ploy.

well either way. i've seen a handful of ppl with replicas, and i could've mistaken for authentics thats how good they are.

how much would it be for a full accolade mazdaspeed kit? does anyone know off the top of their head?

I sent an email to them requesting a price and for me it would be 700 shipped. I also live in TN so its a good bit away from their home office in Cali. They use some other type of material ive never heard of called TFF. It looks like it is a pretty strong material. The guy at accolade also said it had perfect fitment, which I doubt but who knows.

^700 is a whole lot for a replica... If I was you I would buy an authentic. If anybody wants an authentic at a cheap price, MAZDATRIX has one in their office for $1200 its in Brilliant Black, 90/100 condition. I have seen it in person when I seen it in person about 1 month ago. Paint should be another $300... So $1500 is better than $1800 from a dealership. Its not on the Mazdatrix's website, however if you call them, they will be able to help you. Its sitting in their showroom.

Ya i thought it was kinda up there, but im just exploring my options. If i can go authentic i will depending on how much money i make this summer working 2 jobs. I want the front end and side skirts more than anything. The rear bumper would be nice to have too but im not in any true hurry. Ive been reading up on Accolade and now i def have mixed feelings about them. The kit looks very good but idk if i wanna risk the horrid customer service and some of the horror stories about replicas :suspect:

so i was involved in the little car accident and i need whole rear bumper. I'm thinking about mazdaspeed (because I have mazdaspeed front bumper and sideskirts). Maybe somebody know the place where i can bay cheapest authentic rear diffuser or good replica?
