EZZY 02-26-2007 07:17 PM

like these?

chickenwafer 02-26-2007 07:26 PM

I think it looks cool. There needs to a DIY on this. I don't like the exteroir tint stuff, can you take the light apart and put tint on the inside of the lense?

N rider89 02-26-2007 07:39 PM

it hard to open the taillights though. you have to bake them to make the sealant loose.

mine are just painted buy a specialist

chickenwafer 02-26-2007 08:34 PM

I can't bake foods that are supposed to baked, let alone a taillight! Forget that! I'll have to talk to a body shop...

paulmasoner 02-26-2007 09:26 PM

threadjacking....

even though the pic doesnt show it, damn i love that MS v2 hood and nose

tiltmode43 02-26-2007 09:54 PM

I would love to have them smoked, not pitch black though

jzrx8 02-26-2007 10:05 PM

EZZY 02-26-2007 10:52 PM

dont forget you will lose the reflective-ness of the taillights, which means other cars will not be able to spot you as easily at nights if when your car is parked.....

actually mine in not that heavy so the red parts still reflect when you drive by.

mine also let the lights through pretty well at night. so that they dont seem all that dark at night.

ive had a couple cops behind me at night and no problem. although during the day they would get me for sure

Good find! Too bad you have to remove and send in your taillights :( That's a few days of downtime at least

One technique we have been using here in AZ is spray on tint that you can pick up from a hobby shop.

A couple light coats....

YayAreaBruh21 02-27-2007 06:04 PM

How much does that stuff generally run for?

and how difficult is it to take out the rear lights?

I have a friend who has an associates in body work and collision repair who has done them for several people and they turned out the same as the smokeyourlights link, just wanted to see what they looked like on an 8 before i went and turned my car into some "Uncle Bens"

jrtucker 02-28-2007 09:11 PM

well my friend and I did it today, and i only went with one coat and it looks really good, also i got the third brake light, if anyone wants a DIY I can get one for you, or if you'd like to ship them email me at jrtucker511@yahoo.com

Redlined RX8 02-28-2007 10:03 PM

a diy would be nice, and the stuff you used should be stated in it.
