Aero Flares Too Much???

I called my dealership and asked how much for the side, front, and rear flares painted and installed and they quoted me 1500 does this sound right or can i get them elsewhere.

That sounds about right for the dealers to do the install.

Just keep in mind if your car came with them installed, it would have only ran you $700.

You can buy the parts and install them yourself. The dealer will vastly overcharge you for the amount of work actually performed.

thanks...which do you think is a better buy...flares or rims...

Jason is right....

...and don't forget, they come factory painted!

flares are nice, but the rims change the look of the car a lot more than the standard appearance package.

I initially wanted the app pack, but was faced with the same situation you are now. I decided that I'd just wait and get a body kit down the road after my stock front end has taken all the hits / chips / scratches.

true....l am leaning more towards rims because the standard flares dont seem to do that much for 1500....Im thinking chrome for the wheels, prob 18"

ookie, there goes my theory out the picture, i have black and i was going to take it off. GO FOR THE RIMS!

I was faced with the same dilemma recently and chose rims over flares.
I would rather spend money on a MS kit then the factory kit since it dramatically enhances the look of the car.

appearance package front, side and rear??

Mugatu 10-30-2004 08:54 AM

go to www.trussvillemazda.com

side aero flares are $230 for the pair, and the rear aero flares are $216. I assume this is what you are talking about since the title of this thread is "AERO FLARES" and not "appearance package".

So, both the side and rear aero flares cost a whopping $446. If you can install them yourself (which I did, it's not hard), you can save a lot of money. If you would like to get raped, go to the dealer and pay through the nose.

$1500 is a flat out ripoff.

How about the front under lip which is part of the Appearence package, wonder if that is hard to install yourself. I know the sides and rear are easy... but any sort of Drilling/removing front bumper is just blah... :P
