225/45/18-Bridgestone POTENZA S-03 .... you are KILLING me
Howdy - a couple years ago I bought a set of 225/45/18-Bridgestone POTENZA S-03s for my Mazda 6 ... bought some RX8 OEM rims from ebay (love the stock wheels on your rides) and have been loving my summer wheels.
Last fall I drove over a few thousand wood screws some shithead dropped on a major road. Two tires got "screwed" ... one was fixable, the other trashed. I have been on a mission to NOT PAY DOUBLE what I paid from tirerack 2 years ago for one of these tires. I got them for $105/tire in '08 - admittedly a great deal. I can't find them for less than $250. I know very little about tires - is another 225/45/18-Bridgestone POTENZA S-03 my only option? Should I just suck it up and get one from these goombas on ebay, which is the only place I can find it, for that much? I'll have maybe another summer on these, should I just trash them all and get all new rubber? Thanks for any help. I've really been pulling my hair out over this. I hate the thought of dropping $250 on a tire that will only be used for a short while before I have to replace the other three. I'm also a deal guy, and paying that much for a replacement tire is driving me crazy. I would be happy to buy a USED one if I could only find one ... and I have tried looking!! |
Crap... and like the Polack I am I posted in the wrong subforum.
