Reputable tuners in the Midwest?
I've had a Cobb AP for a couple of months now and I've watched Kane's videos. I want to know if their is a shop in the Midwest that knows what they are doing when I comes to tuning RX-8s on the dyno.
Thanks, Brian |

Awesome tuner, and great guy. Very affordable and he won't BS you! |
tuning in midwest
I hit up redmist automotive on Facebook. i have a turbo 8 and looking to get it dyno tuned. He told me that COBB no longer supports the RX8. He also said he was going to call COBB since V2 with rx8 is no longer listed and let me know this morning. That was what he told me yesterday.

I'll talk to Mike (Red Mist) today regarding this. He is a good friend and I'm sure he'll manage to work something out. Best tuner around, and only person I trust to tune my Honda Challenge race car.

Mazda Maniac is the only authorized rx8 Cobb dealer. You have to buy it through him. After that, you can get access tuner race through Cobb. Or your tuner can do that.

I need to get my 8 tuned as well, I got a new engine ~12k ago and I just feel it's not putting out as much power as the other 8's at AutoX.

There is a tuning session for rotaries this weeked May 7 and 8th I believe at Deans performance. There is a guy named Steve Kan that will be doing tunes.
My tuner (Steve Kan) is coming up to tune some rotary vehicles. We do have tuning slots open still if anyone is interested (see list of ECUs below) and also wanted to open it up for some BBQ food and 3 pull dyno runs. If interested, PM me or drop a note in this thread. The tuning and bbq will be at Deans Performance in St Charles. Even if you just want to stop by to eat let me know so we can plan food appropriately. Dates are tentatively set for May 7th for bbq but May 6-8th for tuning services. Pricing: 3 Rips on the dyno $80 Tuning prices vary depending on licensing and platform Dyno fee is a flat $100 for the duration of tuning time ECUs Tuned: Accel Gen 7 Adaptronics AEM EMS AEM (FIC) Fuel/Ignition Controller A'PEXi Power FC/FC Edit (all cars/model) Autronic SMC, SM2 and SM4 Cobb Accessport for Rx8, GTR, Evo x, bmw, subaru, ford Diablosport Dynojet Power Commander / all models DSM/ECM Link EcuFlash for Subaru and Mitsubishi vehicles Ecutek FRS EFI Live Electromotive Tec 3 and Tec 3R F.A.S.T. and F.A.S.T.
