and yeah hollowing out my cat was one of my first modifications... in reaction to melting half of it though, it seems reasonable *shrugs*
also Ignition amps got canned, I will be using Okada Projects Direct plasma coils instead, probably should have fixed that part of my post sooner..

I think you could benefit from looking at currently used and supported ignition mods rather than stuff that has been shown to be over priced and not provide the benefits necessary.

hmmm! DEBATE :P Ok so I will look up the BHR system, although I would like to here MM's points on the Okada coils if possible, and TeamRX8's points on BHR...
First hand experience is always good to hear about as opposed to reviews where everything sounds awesome...

Hello! I have an FC turbo II with megasquirt. I also would suggest having some before hand practice on another rotary. The fact that there are so many more parameters to control on the rx-8 will make your learning curve much more longer.
The RX8 intake system is much more complex. Now my words of encouragements are that I am certain that it can be done (megasquirting the renesis) so that most of the functionalities or systems will work accordingly.
Now, unless you manage to improve over the design of the intake or the fuel curves I dont see a benefit for using and aftermarket ECU on the renesis. I would personally do this if I was to turbo the renesis or do something more aggressive. I am currently installing a P2000 haltech in a 13BEW powered rx-8 which will be a nice challenge because there are still many "functions" that need to be addressed.
I say keep posting your comments here, but I can assure this is no easy task and you will not find too many answers. For stand alone rotary support you also have to remember that you need to consider trailing ignition and staged fuel parameters. Not a lot of tuners are capable of doing this, you will be on your own once you have the basics done as far as the installation. If its a piggyback installation there is really no point in doing this, a reflash is much more productive.

well it's a play ground for future mods, FI will be done MUCH later... :P I wanna get my new engine before I worry about FI and I'll use this engine for practice so it'll go smoothly while tuning for the new engine, or smoother anyways, as I'm sure it's going to be VERY different from the renesis, although it'll also be usefull for an e85 setup since MS can use a flex fuel sensor :P

I've been looking in to this . So will ms3 control rx8spark? With stock crank wheel.
All you need to do is run it pararell.
Ms just dose fuel and spark all the other stuff will work the same.
