MazdaManiac Website Down?

I just got my AP in today, and was trying to download the base MM calibration, but the website is a domain placeholder with all kinds of ads.... I was just on there a few days ago, and everything was fine.

Anybody else had this problem?

Sephitrask 02-20-2013 08:57 PM

he posted on his facebook page that his domain was temporarily down, I would suggest checking there for updates

He posted this about 10 hours ago:

The MazdaManiac domain is down for a couple of hours while my name-servers re-propagate.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Man, I don't hardly do Facebook. I could have sworn it was back up at work. Just looked, and it's not on my computer. Gr.

If it is a name-server issue, it can take a full day for it to re-propagate. It sounds like he didn't repay to retain his domain name in time or he changed domain name registrars.

I just checked and it is up now ;)

I saw. Now to put it on the car!

Quick question though. How safe is the base tune? I know it says to drive carefully for a few minutes during the first drive cycle. But after that, is it safe to take up in revs and load levels? Obviously keeping an ear open for weird noises...

My base tunes were very conservative. Monitor your data (AFRs, LTFT) while driving and if you see anything concerning stop accelerating.

Follow the instructions and submit your data when it is time...

If your 8 is FI then I would do the above with a greater attention to detail!

Turbo or NA? Makes a big difference :)

This^^^ is what happens when you don't monitor the data from your new tune...

Beodude 02-22-2013 09:14 PM

It's NA. What am I looking for in the long term trend? I think 1 is ideal? Sorry I haven't looked up more. I've done a lot of stuff with torque, but it probably displays stuff differently.

Would STFT mean much at all?

Kane 02-23-2013 08:36 AM

Combined STFT and LTFT under 3% is good enough to call it tuned, under 1% would be ideal, but it takes forever to get it that low.

It's mostly for bragging points IMO.

TeamRX8 02-23-2013 12:45 PM

That only applies to closed loop tuning

Kane 02-23-2013 12:53 PM

Yeah, should have clarified.

In open Loop the DIfference from observed AFR and desired AFR is the key element to measure accuracy. For NA builds with sensors scaled correctly in the Cobb. Closed Loop should approximate open loop.

Beodude 02-23-2013 05:18 PM

Closed loop is using sensors right? As far as my STFT, I was sitting around 5 idling and at lower rpm. I think it went up to 25 at the highest. Didn't go over 7,000 and about 3/4 throttle.
