Hows this look? base turbo
1 Attachment(s)
Trying to get a base map put together that will let me safely drive the car around for some tuning and logging. I start tearing it down for the install tomorrow so I'm trying to get it put together. Still need to pull down the timing map as well. Shooting for excessively safe:
Updated with my V2 Attachment 279553 Opinions, input, advice appreciated :) |
You need to up your load to 2.

Is there a way to do that globaly? Or will I have to modify ALL the tables individually? |
Gotta go one at a time.... thorough them all.

Ok I've redone the load for all the Air/fuel Gear and Timing maps. Do I need to do the same for the Closed loop tables and VE table? Or will it ignore those when I exceed that load and just go off my set A/F and Timing? |
I am a stickler for detail... so I scale them all - but I don't think you have too - just the Timing, Fuel, Throttle, Accel, OMP type ones.
|
Roger, I'll do them all too then. :D:
|
I predict much bogging in your future LOL
Do some work on MAF scaling at low loads (kanes' thread) before you get too much into boost |

Crazy safe then lean it up a bit at a time until I get a feel for how it reacts to the tuning. I think since I went ahead and bought the Boost controller I'll try to set my WG up for 6PSI and tune it there until I get a tune nailed down. |
Updated OP with Load adjusted. Also added my timing maps :)

It is very very safe.

I Figure that will get me running enough to putt around and make sure I dont have any leaks or mechanical issues. Do a few logs and watch my wideband, get my MAF scaled then start pulling fuel :) Also going to weld my exhaust tips on so they protrude enough not to set my bumper on fire  |
Just watch your EGT's.... over-rich and retarded tends to make the motor and exhaust very warm...

Yep, not going to do any long drives like this, just to do a run or two. I'm going to make a couple of other complete tunes with the fuel leaned out a bit more on each one. That way I can just step up to the next tune until I get close then start tweaking. I actually live on a long, straight, sparsely populated road so I can go to the end of the road and back to get 1st-3rd runs in :) |
Feel free to use my MAF Scaling software as well if you like.
LOL @ Paris Hilton - that was the best answer I have ever heard. |

Just to note, the limiter tables (and others) need to be adjusted out to the proper load as well.
With that fuel table and a calibrated maf, you will not be able to get into boost. It'll bog first. I would like to know what the highest load and highest RPM can be set to stoich on a load-based map, if anyone would like to comment. |
I do 50%; and no higher than 4500 RPM personally.

interesting - left mine pretty much stock in that range . That would improve fuel economy at high speed cruising a little i guess .

Maybe just run with my next Leaner map fromt he start ?
http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...aseAFmapV2.jpg Mawnee, this is very close to my starter map for 3/4 gear, tho mine is richer at high rpm and low load. |

IIRC, stock is not stoich at .5 and 4500; it is less.

Oh, I understand what you are saying now. Thanks.
And I appretiate the understanding for the threadjack, Mawnee. GL! |
Yeah once you lose the cat you can pull all kinds of fuel out of the lower load areas - honestly, if you really wanted to try - just keep leaning it out until it starts to buck at cruise.... I wouldn't - but me and Faille did get the FD to run 16.2 at cruise with no issues.
