greddy turbo kit with hybrid 13b engine

hello! i`m from Russia my name is Nick. I`d like to tell you about my experience in engine tuning and what problems i have! and i hope you will give me advices how to eliminate that problems!

So lets start)))
i bought on ebay greddy turbo kit
i bought new housings for rx8
i bought clutch kit stage 2
i bought ksport front brake kit 8pistons 330mm
i bought old but in good condition two rotor from rx7 turbo
i bought 3 core radiator greddy
i bought 4 rc 550cc injectors and two 380cc

so we build engine and it works but now i have one problem, greddy emanage ultimate don`t want to make corrections of injectors(in neitral or low rmp it give to much fuel to engine, but after 3500 it works great!)
maby you`ve got some ideas to help me?

What kind of work was done machining wise to retro fit the rx7 rotors?
Then get a better engine management system if possible, there are a couple of threads concerning the AccessPORT.

on rx8 rotor there are 3 Fire-resistant rings, but on rx7 rotor only 2 Fire-resistant rings, so we find the way and make on rx7 rotor the third round place to put Fire-resistant ring. thats all))) engine works but emanage ultimate didn`t warks at all, can you advice some other ecus?

This is a good solution if your MAF pipe is adequate :) Hook MazdaManiac, he's a member here and possibly one of the best tuners around at the moment. Plus he offers a cheap remote tuning service.

Your build is pretty interesting, what are your turbo specs? is it a stock greddy unit?

nickolianoru 04-07-2010 08:42 AM

yes it`s tock, and can you tell me about mazda maniac? i don`t understand little, they are working with cobb? but how i remebmer it`s working only with stock engine.....

E.M.S. 04-07-2010 08:50 AM

mazdamaniac is a member here.
he uses the cobb acessport as a tuning tool as well as others
he tunes NA or turbo engines
he has a turbo engine himself
he can probably help you
he offers a tuning service where you upload your information according to his format and he sends you downloadable maps to load onto your acessport
he also sells an upgrade for the stock greddy turbo
he has a website
it is www.mazdamaniac.com
this will help you
your car is nice
good luck

This is one interesting setup, really wanna see a dyno when its all said and done. I like the ksports, looks real good.

He actually follows non stock engines as well as other cars so you will be fine :)
What you have to consider is that the turbo you're using is probably too small for you application.
If i were you i'd talk to him and to BlackHaloRacing, they are tied together and Charles R. Hill is the kind of guy that will help you with other probably needed purchases and solutions.
He successfully helped dozens of european members with their projects and as a team they really rock. They'll not let you down since they offer both the parts you need to complete the project (boost controller, accessPORT, whatever else like ignition coils etc) and the knowledge to get it right the first time :)

Charles R. Hill is a member here as well.

Hope this adds tot he help provided above!

People have fitted rx7 rotors in the past and had longevety issues . Not sure if the extra seal is all that is required , will be interested to hear how you get on .

nickolianoru 04-08-2010 03:15 AM

engine is allready working and boost guage shows sometimes 13psi dyno will go when car will be totaly ready))) but they talk that it must be something like 320-350 whp

That's a big stretch for a stock t618z, you could easily reach this goal with a properly sized turbo though

nickolianoru 04-08-2010 08:10 AM

about ksport, i don`t now why, but stock brakes was for me not so good, and i like orange )))))
but rear brakes i also upgrate change rotors and street racing pads....

about engine i`ll have meetting evening and they will give my 2-3 offers what to do next step to finish mapping....

nickolianoru 04-08-2010 08:10 AM

i`m sorry for my english)))

arghx7 04-08-2010 10:14 PM

Do you have any logs you can post from the EMU? Preferably with a wideband input.

nickolianoru 04-22-2010 05:56 AM

so we make it! car is working good, problems was with injectors 550 , we change them and it warks i`m so happy, but now i`ve got more problem i`m not in Moscow now and i don`t have time to drive it)))) soon we`ll go to dyno stand

E.M.S. 04-22-2010 08:14 PM

I'm not bashing you bro, glad you got things straightened out. just laughing at the way you type. i understand English isn't your first language and your doing better than some of the ignorant asses that actually grow up in this country.

Brettus 04-22-2010 09:31 PM

will be very interested to see how those rotors change the whp you get as compared to the renesis rotors . My guess is that you will struggle to make 250whp on the stock greddy - prove me wrong :)

make sure you get boost logged as one of the parameters when you dyno ......

I'm gonna side with Brettus here. All things being equal...... lowering your compression without using a bigger turbo to compensate with higher boost(flow) should not yield better numbers. The turbo will flow what it will flow. You will probably see a shift in where the power is though.

The lower compression setup has potential to shine with a higher flowing turbo though. Your engine can take bigger gulps of air than ours, so if you could feed it enough it should make more power while maintaining a lesser risk of detonation.

Shhh....don't say that too loudly. This forum seems to be averse to such things.:mchase:
