Couple Idle Questions

I have a few questions that i am just going to ask in one thread. The car is a rebuilt motor with the esmeril kit running a microtech unit/interceptor for engine management.

First question: when i make adjustments to the idle map in matrix mode it makes no changes to the AFR and how the car runs at idle. However, when i switch the map mode to normal and make adjustments to the idle map, all changes can be seen with how the car runs and a differnce in AFR. Why do the changes only occur when the maps are on normal instead of matrix?

Second question: Kinda has to do with question one but when in normal mode for the maps, the car has idle surge. it jumps from 880 RPM to about 1200RPM. does this constantly UNTILL the fans kick on, then it holds a steady idle. IF i am in Matrix mode, the car idles at a constant RPM all the time but is crazy rich right at around 10.3 and has a stumble to it due to being so rich. Why does it idle surge in one mode but not the other.

Third question: The car is sitting idle with the map mode set to normal. It has idle suge with AFR anywhere from 10.9 to 14.00. Fans kick on and it holds a steady idle and AFR at about 10.9. Now if i turn the headlights on, AFR goes to 11.4ish. If i turn the blower fan on inside the car, AFR goes to 12.xx if i turn the fan and air conditioning on AFR goes to 13.9. Why is it that the more electronics i turn on the AFR goes leaner.

Anyway, just a few things i noticed last night when trying to work on how the car idles. Any ideas or imput woudl be helpful. interested to hear some of hte answers. Thanks guys.

A little info and a bump...

I read on the RX7 boards about people running timing at idle between 15 and 20* advanced and that was helping with there idle. Not sure what my timing is at off the top of my head but it may be something that i will check into when i get home tonight.

Assuming this would be about the same for the RX8 anyway.

oh and.. BUMP.
