Exclamation Cobb AP Not Logging Data

I don't think I'm the first person with this problem, but I couldn't find anything in this section of the forum or by searching:

My Cobb AccessPORT is not logging or recording data! My car is at the shop and the tuner needs the logging to get a spot on tune. He called Cobb and Cobb doesn't even support the AccessPORT for the RX-8!!

MazdaManiac bought the rights to the Cobb AP so he is the only one the can give any support or insight on this. Jeff, if you are reading this, PLEASE help me. I know you are busy busy, but I have been waiting 3 weeks for my turbo to get done and tuned, and I would really appreciate your help.

If anybody has any info on this please help me out. I am dying here without my car.

As I pointed out to you in our e-mail exchange, you can't do anything with a MazdaManiac base calibration if you didn't purchase your AccessPORT from me.

Stroudism: if you didn't buy the AP from Jeff then your tuner needs to TUNE and to do so he must begin with a blank map and create one for you.
the MM base maps are locked (for good reason) so I would suggest uninstalling the base map, having your tuner make something for you, load that map onto your PCM and then data log.

I'm pretty sure he isn't joking.
That said, I'd still like to know who provided him with my base calibration.

MM, next time tell them to send you the log so you can "look" at it, should provide you with your answer

Hopefully the original poster can tell us where he got the base map so you can know which version he has and we can better assist him.

He can't get a log. That is because he is trying to use an unlicensed base calibration, which his tuner's software can't communicate through.

I should have thought this through a little better before I downloaded the base calibration. A guy in a local Mazda club told me he found this great MM base map in the forums and that is was a free download, so I eventually found it and put in on my car (which was way better than the stock map).

I am sincerely sorry for doing this, I didn't mean any harm in doing so. I will try to find the thread where I got it. I can send you the map when I get my Cobb or Laptop back.

Of course the tuner is trying to tune with a blank map. It was my fault for not telling him I had the MM map on there, I forgot. I told him to delete the map from the device all together, and load the latest map from Cobb for stock tune. I am hoping they will get to it today, I'll keep y'all posted.

I have to say despite having "stolen" a map from Jeff, he has been very responsive and helpful through this. Thank you.

FYI - my tuner is using the AccessTUNER software on my laptop.

I got the AP to finally log data! I removed all software from my laptop and re-loaded EVERYTHING. However, here's what I think the problem really was: When I plugged the AP into the AccessTUNER software, I found some logging options in the "view" or "edit" menu. There was a tab in there labled "logging" where I found the sampling rate the AP was set for. It was set on 10 (which was highest from 1-10). I set this sampling rate to 7 and guess what? The damn thing recorded my data. Holy damn. The I/O buffer must have been overloaded with all the data being read so fast. Also, I could not do it with MM's base map that I had.

Jeff, I appreciate all your help and support though this. The map has been removed from my device and laptop never to be used again. Please forgive me for downloading this. I didn't realized it wasn't for public forum use.
