AP tuning versus Int-X tuning?
Okay, so If i'm understanding correctly, the Int-x can be tuned in real-time, somewhat similar to the AEM EMS ( that i had on my supra ). But the AP cant?
So with the AP, you have to run the car, while datalogging, and then finetune the map, upload the newly changed map to the AP, then install it into the car? is that correct? that just doesn't seem very cost effective in terms of tuning in the long run =/ |
far as i know, you can tune in real time on AP.
int-x is not granular enough to replicate OEM-like tuning the AP can do. |

it may have changed since the last time i saw it mentioned, but last i saw you cant tune in real time with the AP... it still has to be flashed like always.
BUT... the AP is leaps and bounds beyond the Int-X either way.. |
because until recently, the only one who could tune the ap is someone with the professional version of the software, which costs several thousand dollars. So Jeff made maps and shipped them out.
Now there is a street tuner software, it's free, anyone can use it, but if you're venturing outside of NA use, you better know what you're doing :) You should be able to make changes in real time on your maps loaded in the pcm's memory without saving the changes, yet the changes take effect immediately. vent to atmosphere is problematic with MAF setup unless you have a blow through setup where the venting happens before the air is measured. You can get away with it even without blow through, but you'll have "popping" exhaust from it being too rich during shifting. I can't deal with that on a DD, so I recirculated. |

No real time tuning with the AP. Datalog, tune, reflash.
|
OMG ok so you can? or you cant real tuen?
"AP has trouble with the maf/blowthrough/bov to atmosphere problem?" Is this only for people that are FI? |
The only cars the we can real-time tune at the moment with our software is Subaru's and Evo's. But we're always working on others.
Cheers |

^Ok cool thats good to know. I dont want to get this thing and have to throw it at Jeff  and I dont plan on going FI anytime soon.
Thanks! |
